The fundamental problem is a vision based system is always going to have difficulty in tight spaces. That’s why Tesla (and everyone else) used ultrasonic sensors for short distance accuracy. This is a case of where removing something to add simplicity was, and will remain, a net negative unless Tesla adds a lot more cameras.

Apparently, we’re supposed to believe that:

1. This person updated their firmware while their car was parked in this precarious location knowing full-well that ASS would be implicated/affected and didn’t consider that there could be a problem? Of course, that’s completely irrelevant given items 2 and 3!

2. This person doesn’t know that they can simply open their trunk and fold their seats down to access the cabin?

3. The person can be heard saying in the video that it, “won’t go to pin.” ?

Well, that’s not how they fucking got the car in there! Did they forget that all they need to do is to push on the reverse arrow in dumb summon and move the car back? You know, exactly the reverse of how they got it in there! ?

Fred Lambert and Electrek circled the drain a long time ago, I'm glad I flushed them down and out of my feeds. FUD-spreading hacks playing wannabe journalists. Tragic, really.

Yup, removed them from my reading list a year or two sadly. They had really good stuff, but damn, the Fred FUD was just too much, mixed in with the good stuff. Couldn't support it anymore.

Fred is an investor in TSLA whom bought on the ups. He has lost some money and felt burned by Elon and Tesla. Talking negative about Tesla will not improve his investments. Not sure if he sold and got out which is why he is ready to burn Tesla with negative articles. Since Tesla fell from $400 he has been very negative with the brand.
