Steering Column - Annoying Creaks

Hey everyone, I've had my truck in service a few times in the 8 months or so I've owned it, and at least 2 times this stupid steering column cover has been a part of it. This is the cheapest, worst feeling part of the truck for me. It creaks and makes a ton of noise. They've replaced it once, or twice, I can't remember, but it STILL creaks and sounds awful.

Now it also creaks when I turn the wheel. It seems like a cable in there is rubbing at a certain point? Or maybe the gap isn't big enough, I don't know.

Has anyone else had issues with this piece and been able to sort it out?

I go over how I fixed it in this video but you basically have to remove the whole thing and either cover the contact points with felt tape or flock it

That's not actually the part that's making noise unfortuantley. It's the "top" (closer to the wheel part) that's creaking, not flapping from the contact of the two.

I did have that making a noise a while ago and shoved a business card in to fix it lol.
