Supercharging Fail while using Power Outlets

I've been noticing an issue when I am using the power outlet in the bed for a fridge and supercharging.

Most of the time, it starts to charge for maybe 30 seconds to a minute, then says "Charging stopped." Sometimes it's not an issue, but my last road trip it wouldn't do a continuous charge at all.

When you get that error, you have to turn off the outlets in the bed, press unlock charger on the screen (otherwise you can't pull the charger by pressing the button on the handle), unplug the supercharger, and plug it back in.

The first time this happened I didn't know to push the screen button to unlock the charger and panicked. I pulled the emergency latch to unlock the charger which broke some clips in the plastic paneling hiding the e-unlock pull.

Just FYI if anyone is having a similar issue.

Are there any error codes in the service menu? Wonder if it's software bug. In theory there should be no issue given the inverter is not used with DC supercharging.

I went cross country this summer (few software versions ago) with plug in cooler in the bed and it stayed functional every time I supercharged.

No error codes at all. I should do a reset to see if that changes anything.

Tesla does NOT allow for the use of ANY outlets while charging, whether it is supercharging all the way down to Level 1 charging. It's not an error or fluke, it's just the way they have designed it.

And yeah it sucks....I complained to the service center, because there are times when I want to be using my bed outlets to charge something while also charging, but nope, they don't allow it, citing deficiency in the capability of the inverter. It can only do AC or DC in one direction at a time, not in both directions at the same time.

Which I was like... well on the F150 lightning I had before this I could charge the vehicle and I could use all the outlets while it was charging including the 240 in the bed....so go figure.

you are incorrect, the vehicle will shut off ALL outlets the second you connect a charger to the vehicle. You probably just thought the fridge was still working, but in reality it wasn't.

That's actually not true for DC charging(supercharging) that only applies to AC charging. you can continue to use a refrigerator, charge other things (I've charged my Anker Portable Power stations while supercharging) etc.

you are incorrect, I've had an entire discussion/complaint with Tesla service center, as I believe it to be ridiculous you can't use the outlets while charging the truck.

So go argue with them, but the vehicle WILL DISABLE all outlets automatically the moment you connect any charger to the truck.

I just went on a 2k mile trip from San Diego to Idaho and back, supercharged 8 times, and I wanted to charge my Stark Varg on 240v and a scooter on 120v I had on the bed while I was supercharging, and the answer is NO, you can't.

If you disagree as to why you can't, fine by me, I ain't a cybertruck engineer, but regardless as to why, again, the answer is NO, you can't.

You can DC charge and use outlets, but you can NOT AC charge and use outlets. I love my fridge in the back! IceCo VL60. Fits perfect under the tonneau cover.

Charging will stop if bellow a certain SOC. 20% I believe. That has got me a few times on long road trips.

Maybe what you have plugged in is causing a dirty ripple on certain line voltages, and the electrical system isn't happy seeing it. So technically, the system could be stopping out of abundance of caution.

Not all electric pumps and motors are designed with quality in mind. Is it a cheap fridge? Hook it up to an oscilloscope.

I had starlink, phone wall charger, and a fridge connected inside the cabin, then my stark varg and a scooter in the bed, every single time I connected to the supercharger, ALL outlets will be shutoff by the truck. The second I disconnected from supercharger, all outlets would be reenabled automatically by the truck.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, I had a discussion/complaint with Tesla service center, and the confirm that you are not allowed to use any outlets while you are charging the truck, ANY type of charging.

I'm pissed off about it, but you are not correct saying you can use the outlets at any moment while the truck is charging.

You are wrong. The other posters are right. AC charging disables the outlets. DC charging does not. A Supercharger won’t impact them.
