Tailgate opens by itself!

Just got my CT a week ago and have two problems that seem to be rain related: 1: the tail gate sporadically opens uncommanded. 2: the tonneau controls on the truck aren’t working in the rain. I can use my app to operate both; but if the control buttons are wet, they don’t respond.
Could it be water in the tailgate button making it operate the tailgate?
It seems to help if I lock it using the app, but I’m not sure.

Are you sure that it maybe isn't you accidentally hitting the button on the phone "butt openining"

Update on the spontaneous tailgate opening: It has stopped doing that, so I'm pretty sure it wasn’t a “butt-operation”. Additionally the manual buttons aren’t working to operate the tonneau or the tailgate! I have scheduled a service appointment.

Yeah, water in the switch has been reported by others as an issue.

Hopefully the service center has a fix! I’ll find out October 21...

all three of my buttons have stopped working and just before that my tonneau kept spontaneously opening by itself. So I think your tailgate opening was similar to when my buttons were failing.
