Yep and it has only lost 15% of its value over 3 years, unlike my Model X
Cars/Trucks depreciate. Unless your going the Concurs De Elegance route. Are you selling your F150 today to capture that awesome non depreciation, to throw it in the next winner of less depreciation cars or trucks? Maybe a Honda Civic this time.

You were comparing a best-case EPA range estimate (500) to worst-case anecdotal results. This is not a valid comparison.

No one promised you 500 miles between Superchargers.
It was "500+" not "500" and the anecdotal results are ALL the results that are out currently, and all of them point to a real world range of about 200 miles when driven.

Maybe that’s why none of us have VINs yet? Maybe they’re on pause trying to figure out how to address these range reports drivers are posting?
I really hope so, I can't imagine after offering a 500+ range vehicle, then dropping that to 340 that Tesla would thing it anywhere close to acceptable that the vehicle is getting around 200. I REALLY hope it is some kind of software mess they are currently address and that these vehicles can get 300+ in the real world driving.

There is no back of the line if you skip a Foundation Series invite because THERE IS NO LINE. Reservation numbers aren't representative of a place in line.

Also, skipping a Foundation Series invite doesn't put you at the end of the line.
Love how people keep insisting that reservation numbers don't mean anything when they so obviously do. Dumbest hill to die on.

Let me make it easy for you to understand: Early RN number = FS invite. High RN number = No FS invite.

I am as willing as the next guy to bend over backwards to give Tesla the benefit of doubt during a product rollout. Historically they have stood by their products and improved them over time. I anticipate the same with the CT.

The FS $20K decision, as a matter of principle feels like they are asking early adopters to bend over in the other direction. No thank you. I will wait for the bugs to be worked out and battery tech to improve. No big deal. Still a shitty way to do business.

My beef with Tesla can be best equated to why Jay Leno doesn't own any Ferraris:

"you know you're spending a tremendous amount of money you should be made to feel like a customer "

We're spending a LOT of money on the Cybertruck. Yet Tesla, with ZERO communication, ZERO transparency regarding the product launch, not allowing anyone to even sit in the trucks in showrooms, being forced to pay a $20k 'Foundation' markup, HALF of the promised range... it feels very much like a Ferrari experience.

"Oh you wanted a reasonably priced truck that beats out the competiton in range, features, etc.? Fuck you, pay $100,000 for fewer features and less range, or get to the back of the line. You should be grateful for the PRIVILEGE to even hold a reservation"

I'm not feeling very much like a customer with the Cybertruck launch. It makes me want to reconsider the whole thing.

Interested to hear other's thoughts.
This is my first Tesla experience and I’m not impressed at all… that said, they have a product i so I’ll put up with their shitty customer service.

Nope, you're just wrong.

Let me make it easy for you to understand, cupcake ... Myself, and others, have a day 0 "during the event" RN numbers and haven't received an FS invite while much higher RNs have.

Any questions?

This is really quite simple… as a publicly traded company there goal is to maximize shareholder wealth. That means making the most money possible given supply and demand considerations. If enough people don’t like it or thinks it’s to expensive, price will drop. BUT, Elon is not wrong to price it where he has!

I mean I am fine with the lack of communication if nothing changes.
But ghosting customers and reservation holders for 4 years just to surprise everyone with much higher prices and range going from 500+ to under 200 is pretty rough.
Uhhhhhhhhhhh have you seen any of the 20+ videos / posts etc of people actually driving these things?
People are having to charge for an hour and a half to get to 90% so they can get to the next supercharger that is 2 hours away and at 500-800 wh/mile the real world range of the CT is nowhere close to 340 at about 200 when real world driving especially with a good amount of highway.

CTs out there with over 6,000 miles of real world driving and range #s showing barely over 200 miles (AWD)
It was "500+" not "500" and the anecdotal results are ALL the results that are out currently, and all of them point to a real world range of about 200 miles when driven.

I agree. Given the unusual history (CT is like no other vehicle ever made) I think Tesla is doing a good job of trying to keep folks informed. The price is reasonable now, but I do expect it to go down (and range to increase both with software once the new 123Kwh battery packs have some history, and future improvements in 4680 batter formulations) as Tesla ramps production up.

It wasn’t really a surprise, Elon said a while ago they couldn’t keep prices that low, I budgeted an extra 20k just based on that statement.

Well,I just traded my M3 for a MY performance pick it up on the 11th; thought the process was pretty efficient while I wait for the CYBERBEAST order invite. Impersonal yes,but that is the future as entities move to online purchases. From what I see on Youtube most early takers are not truck enthusiasts, but novelty players. We all judge a situation in accordance to the degree in which our interests are satisfied. I have a Ferrari Pista and get excellent service from our Ferrari dealer. Different experiences for different folks.

I mean yea, but it was $50k not $100k....................
If it cost $50k+inflation since no issue with 300+

The issue is it is currently 2x the price, and in the real world isn't getting 300 miles of range
