Following changes earlier in the year to Tesla’s last-chance FSD Transfer policy, Tesla is now reaching out to customers of the newer Cybertruck AWD trim ahead of deliveries to update customers on available FSD options. Customers who placed a reservation for an AWD Cybertruck with the FSD Transfer option will no longer be entitled to transfer FSD on the AWD Cybertruck.

The policy is troubling for customers, many of whom may feel they have been victims of a bait-and-switch.

To be clear, those were reservations and not orders.

That doesn't mean I agree with Tesla re-making the rules post-reservation, but it's important not to confuse the two steps in the process.

Next, Tesla will surprise buyers with additional expenses at delivery for port-installed options (PIOs) like underbody protection spray and pinstriping.

All of the SAWD orders were not reservations, they followed the exact same process as any other Tesla vehicle. Hence, why they had the $250 order fee, not the $100 reservation fee that we saw previously on Cybertrucks.

I guess my big question for this decision is why? Why trying to kill orders? Do they think FSD is that good now? Is the price about to rise?

I was very disappointed about the change. I have an x plaid with fsd and reserved the $59k truck. I ended up buying a used 2025 with fsd because I guarantee Tesla will increase price or offer tiers. I sold my car private property but I would have bought a premium since used prices were so high. Either way it cost Tesla a new vehicle sale and they lost my trade. But if they opened transfers again I would get a brand new premium.

As I said in another thread. Tesla makes changes to vehicles all of the time and their stance is you can reject delivery. They removed things like passenger lumbar, mobile charger, steam support, etc.

There are pages of complaints on TMC and Tesla tells people they don't have to accept delivery.

We know they aren't ever delivering the Autosteer for us foundation series owners even though it's listed.

Well, that sucks, but since Tesla offers a refund of the order fee - it doesn't leave much leverage fo those that ordered.

Elon's comp package is likely a big reason why they killed Autopilot and went to subscriptions only. Purchase of FSD counted as a subscription, but transfers do not. Without Autosteer on any car you have to subscribe to FSD to get any sort of lane centering now.
