• It uses too much energy to mine.
• It uses too much energy to transfer coin.

Bitcoin doesn't come with recovery security. It doesn't come with transfer security - there's no way to roll back fraudulent transactions.
Bitcoin ≠ all crypto currency
Bitcoin ≠ all blockchain

And just because I find fault in Bitcoin doesn't mean I don't recognize the utility of these tools.

These are plain facts, not 'straw man" rhetoric.

Another plain fact; the USD resides on 300+ trillion of global debt, and the enforcement is US military which uses energy like an out of control madman.
All these plain facts make Bitcoin energy use look quite efficient in comparison.
Not to mention how Bitcoin will 'bank' billions of people around the planet currently unbanked.
We are witnessing a global game change right before your eyes.
It is called 'Trustless Accountability'

BTW speaking about Bitcoin network facts is not 'peddling'.
Bitcoin is currently evolving, the recent Lightning Network layers make transactions incredibly cheap and super fast.

No one cares that the dollar 'lost' value except goldbugs. It's a dumb argument, because dollars are merely a medium of exchange. No one cares because no one earned a dollar in 1913 to spend it in 2023. If dollars rose like bitcoins did, there would be no impetus to spend them.

No spending, no economy. No use in trade. It's like you don't understand what currency is for: It's a fiction we use to buy and sell things today. It isn't a long-term store of value. That's what investments are. If it held its value, there would be no reason to invest.
