If you're a Tesla owner, you already know that kids absolutely frakin' love Teslas. Mosty couldn't tell you the make or model of any other vehicle on the road but they go absolutely nuts when they see a Tesla.

Recently, we had a request from one of my wife's friends kids. His mom asked him what he wanted for his birthday ... he said he wanted to take his girlfriend on a date in a Tesla. He's 11 years old.

She called us and we happily obliged. I polished up the Ultra Red Model S Plaid, we dressed appropriately, and picked up the gentlemen caller and his lovely date.

We then departed to the "Play Station" (a local place where kids go to skate and play games). With much fanfare from friends (he must have told everybody) we pulled up like royalty to the crowd. We held them back just long enough to get the red carpet from the frunk and roll it out and watched them exit into the crowd like movie stars. The kid looked back with steady confidence and unbelievable cool, a girl in his arm, and gave us the thumbs up ... priceless!

Tesla has a secret weapon ... when all these kids get old enough to drive, which is just a few years away, they'll all be buying used Teslas. It won't matter if the battery has degraded, they aren't traveling. They don't want sports cars, they want safe, easy to drive, fun to own Teslas.

Merry Christmas! ??

The younger generation aspiring for a Tesla is real.

Friend's nephew (13 or 14 at the time circa 2019) who lives in rural Wyoming could list all the specs of the Roadster to her aunt. Now in 2023 he’s the same with the Cybertruck.

In early 2019, driving my 14 year old and her friends to school in my Model 3, I heard a lot of aspirational statements about Teslas.

Very aspirational. Tesla could use your video of the event as a commercial ad theme.

The preference for traditional truck designs among the 40+ age group is understandable, they over time, will be replaced by the under 40 crowd.

Cybertruck owns the future

I wouldn't prefer that exact choice of words for a thread title, because it could sound manipulative or exploiting to a headline reader or a tempting screen snip for anti-Tesla trolls. I would instead use a phrase something like this:

Tesla Exemplifies Integrity and Reputation to Children for the Future

- or maybe -

Tesla Instills Brand Integrity in Children for the Future

Probably not a big deal but just my 2¢.

Merry Christmas! ??

A couple months ago, while out walking our dogs in the neighborhood, our neighbors kid (7?) biked over to us and started talking to us about the M3 and MY, comparing pros and cons, costs, features, color options... I was shocked to be at the receiving end of this info. Usually it's me babbling about this stuff to my wife. That kid's parents eventually got a rear wheel white MY after a couple test drives, and the kid is happy. So are the parents. ? Bizarre to have a real chat about EVs with a kid.

Cool story, clickbait title.

You're right, it certainly is about exposure.

There's a reason why people use Apple computers at the rates today. I firmly believe that most millennials use them because they were in schools. If I didn't already have a PC at home and weren't technically inclined I probably would have used Apple as an adult as well.

Definitely a clickbait title (guilty as charged).

Also, on Apple computers, software engineers love Macs, especially now with the new Apple Silicone, truly amazing machines.

My path went something like this: TRS-80, Apple II, C128, Amiga 2000, Apple II GS, Tandy 1000, Gateway PCs, Dells ... Windows, Linux, etc. and for the last 10 years Apple computers. Great UI experience but it gets out of my way when I want to do real work.

I've had several kids cold knock on my door, just to tell me that I have two Teslas. ? I'm convinced that if I didn't expand the conversation to offer to let them sit in it, they wouldn't say anything else. I've paused.... awkwardly waiting for follow ups to the "You have two Teslas"... nothing!!! ?

I've contemplated sometime saying"Thanks" and turning around to walk inside, but I couldn't do that to kids with the gumption to knock on a stranger's door, so I draw out more conversation.

This reminded me during elementary school, I remember this kid kept telling me his dad works for Steve Jobs at Next and its gonna be the next biggest thing because its from the guy that made the Mac. Honestly, I had no clue what he was talking about back then but somehow remember vaguely about something about a Mac and the next generation of Macs.
