Does anybody have any insight on Tesla tire/wheel insurance? I noticed they have a minimum tire thread . Original tires 32,000 miles on them. Still in great shape.

Has anyone made a claim and what difficulties did they run into? I understand it's just for road damage only but do they cover replacing all tires if one gets damaged?

$20 a month seems high.

It looks like only the unrepairable tire would be replaced.
Need at least 75% of original tread to enroll.

I went to America's Tire (Discount Tire) and got the insurance for all 4 tires right after I got my vehicle. I did this with my MY as well... has always served me well.

I got the tire and windshield protection. A few weeks later I got a screw in my tire and had a leak. It with close to the outer edge, so they needed to replace the tire. I paid an additional $25 dollars for the replacement. All in all, the protection saved me $500 if had to buy a brand new tire myself. They only replaced one tire and the other three don’t match now, but I can’t tell the difference. America’s Tire does have a good protection plan, but I’m not sure I feel ok with their lift and my 6500lb truck. So I will stick with Tesla for now.
