If I'm not mistaken they said this is a temporary fix until the pedals can be replaced. I could be wrong. I don't care about the rivet That's me personally.
It's a fully aesthetically coordinated aluminum and stainless steel Cyberrivet. ?

I also had a defect in the windshield at delivery. They replaced it with a windshield that had a chip on the inside up by the visor. I have yet to get my registration documents and title, to the point of threatening legal action to their resolution email. It's now in the shop for a significant vibration at highway speeds (all 4 tires were balanced, as if that should even be needed with <1000 miles). Plus, a trim piece in the center console has been making this awful sound every time I turn.

I mean, I feel sorry for the OP but I'm also not surprised. Every Tesla product lunch is plagued with these kinds of issues that gradually get refined over the next 12-18 months as numerous part revisions get introduced to the product and assembly processes get refined.

I would NEVER be one of the first adopters of a product like this. I got my Model 3 at the height of the production ramp in 2018 and while I never had issues with the car that prevented it from working I had numerous fit and finish issues with that vehicle.

My Model Y has been better but still has squeaks and noises that shouldn't exist on a $50K+ car.

I think I will cancel and lose the $1000 unless they offer a future credit once all the kinks are worked out.
Just too much shitty workmanship that they had 5 years to figure out

Have a good life. Sorry that not being first didn't work out for you.

You'll make someone in Florida happier.

You've probably made your mind up, but I can guarantee you that 90% of the owners so far are exceedingly happy with their trucks, with very few to no issues (except for pedal recall).

(50% would probably sell their spouse before the Cybertruck)

Forums are notorious about bringing out the bad in people. The really bad. People who are happy don't generally post about it. Those who are upset make their opinions known ad nauseum.

Do what works for you.

Go take a read in any forum about anything, there's always people complaining about the smallest things.

That's very true, and I appreciate the input!
i've been trying to get balanced information on it and in the cyber truck forum on Reddit, the mods are like an active cult and will ban anyone even if you browse another sub it to get information on the truck, they banned me for reading up on other subreddits that they said trash or make fun of the truck.
i'm simply trying to gather information and they run it like it's a cult
This would be my first EV but I'm willing to give it a try and have looked forward to it for 4 1/2 years.
i'm not trying to make a political statement or join a cult I simply want a truck that I think would work well to pull a work trailer locally and also be a great vehicle to go drive for fun.
I guess I don't want to deal with all the dickheads and idiots and politics surrounding it.

The EV world is different from the ICE world, somethings are better, somethings not as great.
As a truck, the Cybertruck gets lousy mpg equivalent when compared to the Model 3. It's just a much bigger vehicle.

Charging at home makes a huge difference. You don't realize how much time visiting the gas station takes until you don't have to go. Plugging in at home is just too easy and range isn't something that you even think about. How many times so you go over 100 miles in a day? For most, it's a few times a year on road trips.
Road tripping is a little different, but especially in Florida, most routes are littered with Superchargers. I travel from Atlanta to Orlando multiple times a year. Where it was easily doable 6 years ago with 4 Superchargers along the way, there's now over a dozen Superchargers on my route.

Entering the world of EVs is one thing, entering the world of Tesla is yet another. Simply put, Tesla is reinventing driving, and they represent a lot of change. If you are change adverse, another EV may be better. There are many things that Tesla does that no one has ever implemented before.
Sure, most vehicles now have garage door openers built in. But how many push the button for you when you get near the house and push the button when you leave the house?
To get into a Tesla and drive away, I open the door, sit down, fsten seat belts. put foot on brake, shift into drive and push the accelerator. I didn't have to unlock the vehicle. I didn't have to press a start button. And soon may not even have to put into drive.
I come to a stop, possibly without using the brake. I unbuckle seat belt and open the door and walk away. I didn't even have to place in park. A little bit after I leave, the car will lock.

And the vehicle that you pickup will not be the same as the one you have 5 years from now. I'm really hating getting rid of my Model 3 when I get the Cybertruck. It's the first old car that I haven't been begging to get rid of.

Tesla is just having a few production issues right now, they find them, they fix them. As Tesla seems to have ramped to maybe 1,000 vehicles a week, those who have been complaining are going to quieten down. I'm sure they'll find some other minor things though. Complaining is just a way of life for some.

Don't let the negativity on ANY forum sway you. It's a shame that you have to filter through it all to find the gems of wisdom that I'm sure that you are after.

Have you had the chance to see one yet? Find your nearest Delivery Center and drop by they won't let you in one, but you may be able to at least see and peek into one.. Or your Store/Gallery may have one as well.

So, unless you are change adverse, most people just love a Tesla. It has the highest owner loyalty of any vehicle.

You can see the nearby Stores, Delivery Centers and Superchargers at Supercharger | Tesla , just scroll to the second page and hit Find Us.

I was an early adopter; I ordered my car in 2012 and it was delivered in March of 2013. It was my first and last Tesla, I'm afraid. Between the $265 an hour rate to be serviced, the lack of ability to talk to a live person, and the replacement cost of all the parts that keep breaking, I'm done. Tesla is pricing itself right out of the market. The stock is tanking, and I'm sure that as people's cars are aging and they're finding out how expensive it is, they are getting out. Tesla has got to realize that they are no longer the only show in town. People have options, and I, for one, will be opting out. Too many broken promises.

I totally agree with everything you've said. For me, there have been too many broken promises in my Tesla journey. I bought my car back in 2012...I was an early adopter. Back then, supercharging was going to be free forever, service was not there to make money and mobile (back then, they were called "Rangers"), could fix anything anywhere. Wrong! Beware, my car is now about 12 years old and I have poured thousands upon thousands into it. It is in the shop now, requiring a rear drive unit...the bill when I pick it up will be over $11,500...I have to meet with my financial advisor and dip into my retirement savings to make that payment. Be aware that the get $265 an hour at a Tesla Service Center. I'll tell you, it's not like you're paying for quality and careful workmanship, either. Needless to say, this will be my first and last Tesla. Unfortunate, as I've waited for a SC to be built for that length of time. Before that, I had to drive 2.5-3 hours one way to get to the nearest one, leaving before 6 am so that they had all day to work on things and I wouldn't also have the expense of a hotel room over night. After driving down one time, I get there only to be told that they ordered the wrong part; I'd have to come back the following week; they didn't know that my car was as old as it was?!?!?! Of course, there is no way to talk to anyone before bringing the car in--it's all done of the flippin' app.
The SC that was just recently completed a month or so ago "near" me is still an hour away, but that is considered local around here. They have a Cybertruck on display, and the fit and finish is sloppy. The metal is not as thick as I was led to believe. Watch some youtube videos and reviews. Being it was designed in Cali, they didn't figure for snow. The headlights are recessed, so when it snows, that fills in and you lose all illumination--brilliant design! Musk is a great salesman, but I'm becoming wise to his deceptions. I'm done with all of the drama. I'll be looking into Chevy's upcoming electric truck. There are options and places where the labor charge is a third of the cost. Be warned. I used to be 100% in. I was an early adopter, for heaven sake, but I'm a realist who never wore rose-colored glasses. The mission seems to have changed from one that protects the environment to one that finances Musk's greedy pay package.

If I were you, I would have ditched that early adopter car and purchased a used Model Y. I have at least 5 friends who are using Model Y since 3-4 years, and they are very happy with it. They moved from highly reliable ICE cars, such as Toyotas. One guy is so obsessed with EVs, particularly Tesla, that he is going on road trips every three months now. Looks like you got a bad apple. Early adoption is a hit or miss. Some of the FS owners might end up in your situation after 10 years. Hard to say. But your experience seems to be an outlier than the norm. Otherwise Tesla would have gone bankrupt by now. Paying $11.5K for service using retirement fund is outright ridiculous. Sell that crap and upgrade. Even I don’t pay that much for my highly expensive Porsche maintenance. You can get highly reliable used Model Ys for just 30K.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. This is 100% the way of Tesla, if your vehicle is operating correctly, then it is a fantastic experience. If you have any issues, the servicing experience is far worse than any other automobile I've ever owned.

I recently had to have both my Lightning and Model 3 serviced. For my Lightning, they treated me like a king. Great communication, free Hertz rental of a vehicle class of my choosing, repairs were completed quicker than expected and to perfection. For my Model 3, I had to fight to get a credit for an Uber ride home when the same-day service was pushed out to a 5 day job. The service estimate just kept getting more and more expensive over the five days. I brought my car in for 4 items noted on the app, they fixed 2 of them and said they didn't have time for the other ones (passenger door loud creak and not smooth close + trunk after recall has a one+ inch gap on left side, never repaired after 3 visits for issue).

I've owned vehicles from nearly 10 different manufacturers, all of them needed some dealer work at some point. Tesla is without a doubt dead last on the list of servicing. I'd also put my Model 3 Performance as one of my favorite vehicles I ever owned (even if it's by far the worst value I've ever gotten), but when things go bad, calling Tesla atrocious isn't harsh enough.

Thank you! I was worried that I would by "strung up" on this forum; the newbies, who don't have any kind of history with Tesla can be very disrespectful to anyone who doesn't just sing Tesla's praises and says anything that may be construed as "negative" even if it's fair!
