MSM narratives: Tesla killer, competition is coming & Hybrid is the future are almost extinct-now, they're digging graves & looking for dead recipes to cook against Tesla.

Mostly, the article lacked context. For a vehicle so radically different than the norm, I don't think any of the 8 recalls were all that unusual.

The most egregious thing was putting the initial price for the single motor, $39,990, next to the 500mi range, when that was clearly not the case. But by placing the two together like that, the casual reader will not know the distinction. One assumes that was intentional from the writer.

Was this article the result of the recent thread asking people for input from a “journalist”?
You bet it is, which is why the scumbag propagandist refused to reveal who they worked for and showcase their professional portfolio.

I am the David quoted in the article…..
And Dave gave them exactly what they wanted. FUD. Thanks, Dave.

C’mon, give Dave a break! He’s had more than the usual amount of issues w/ his truck and honestly I don’t wish Service Center visits for my worst enemies, lol.?

Just contemplate the number of service center visits to get them to do a buy-back. And the constant “it’s within spec” BS.

I took mine in early on for inspection of the cantrails and was told mine were “within spec…”. Now there is a nationwide recall of the cantrails.

I’ve had Service Center employees flat-out lie to my face. I’ve gone in with 1 issue and had it returned with damage, resulting in 3 issues. I’ve had the Service Center “test” drive my truck and totally fuxk my safety score, resulting in a higher monthly insurance premium.

So I give Dave lots of latitude.

WSJ AKA brain dead clickbait.

Exactly! They only got the anticipated price of the 500-mile Cyberbeast off by $30,000!

Smart people quit reading the WSJ years ago, and those who still read it are still getting dumber!

And you would have to be even dumber to agree to hook up with a WSJ reporter for an interview. I mean, they don't pay anything and they select just the quotes that support their narrative, making you look foolish.

In the article, did the author of the WSJ article (looks like "Bob" is "Becky Peterson") mention the poll in this forum showing that 86% of CT buyers would buy them again?

I'm pretty sure at least two or three of us pointed them to that poll.

And the media wonder why they are not believed.

Well, the Beast IS quicker than the original 2.9 unveiling.... So, there's that. I don't think a 0.3 second quicker 0-60 is worth $30,000 but some people may. (Not that this changes the fact that the truck ended up being ~40% more expensive than the unveiling prices..)

Doesn’t matter. “Bob” could have easily taken the exact same set of facts with a completely different, positive narrative from actual owners perspective.

Instead, it’s yet another boring negative slanted article.

Using an influencer who applied to get a buyback as representative? Thats what influencers are doing en masse as they got what they wanted content-wise and are trying to beat depreciation, get their money back.

Most owners, like me, can read this and it not map to our ownership experience at all.

No issues at all. I’ve taken my truck to service 1x total for them to do voluntary recalls at my convenience. Schedule on the app, show up, park wherever, check in and have a loaner waiting for you. Back in a few hours.

Outside of that, it’s the best riding, highest utility, most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned or tested by far.

Bridge that gap, write an interesting article. Go in with automatic negative intent and feed the trolls sure, but put out a blend in with the background piece.

I told you "Bob" was actually a woman (on the thread of the "writer" trolling for interview subjects)!

Do you actually think there was any chance she would mention the poll showing 86% would buy the same thing again? Either you are one sarcastic SOB, or your eyes are half shut. ;)

Well, I didn't read the article so thought maybe if the "journalist" had an iota of integrity, they might mention that, even with the writer's agenda and the current environment, most owners are happy enough with their trucks to buy them again - which is perhaps the most powerful succinct summary you can get.

As for eyes half-shut, yes - I'm half asleep on hydroxyzine or diphenhydramine or whatever I've been taking for allergies... But I'm sarcastic, too, so ?‍♂
