I apologize if this is repetitive topic, but I’m getting my cybertruck tinted tomorrow and keep going back and forth on 5% versus 15%. I’m getting windshield at 50%. Anybody had any issues with visibility with 5%?

5% is pretty dark. have 25% on my front windows and reverse parking at night often means windows down.

check with your state laws - in PA anything lower than 70 is “illegal”. i went with 70 on the windshield because its an enormous piece of tint.

if youre doing tint for heat rejction they make 70vlt with like 95+ percent UV blocking which is what makes the difference.

for privacy, 25 isnt bad.

I went with 5% all around, except front windshield. I am happy with how it looks, and yes it does make it difficult to see in certain situations, but not dangerously so. I don’t think 15% would be a hell of a difference in terms of visibility, so I would stick with 5 for the looks. Just my 2 cents

Did 50% windshield and side, 15% for cab. People say that can’t tell I am in the CT when I’m lurking in the parking lot. I’d probably go down to 35% on sides if/when the opportunity arises, no rush to change things. I hate when it’s too dark though, I don’t want to have to roll down the window. Also did 5% visor strip, which is amazing as it cuts down on the flare during sunset/rise.

With tonneau down and moderate tint the CT actually gets pretty dark, if the goal is privacy

Added 5% all the way around, windshield is just a large brow down the the bottom of the camera plastic. Night driving is tough to see in unlit intersections, I just become custom
To putting the window down as I make my turns. Left the triangles near the dash as they was to help with seeing foot traffic etc. you can’t see inside the truck unless I have a dome light on.

Just make sure you double check with the installers that they know to not press hard into the glass with a straight blade razor. Many installers are lazy and end up slicing through the laminate in the glass, causing cracks randomly during a quick thermal cycle.

I did 5% all around including the roof and an “eyebrow” tint down to the Visor level. Make sure you get a Dr.’s Note for Migraines and Eye Strain in Kommiefornia or any other State that forbids tint to that level. Makes a huge difference on heat reduction.

I did 70% on windshield and top, 20% on side windows to match the factory back ones. I think it's a happy medium- the UV elimination is very good with the XPEL's ceramic and the cost savings from overheat protection are real (but now I can't use solar panels on the dashboard).

Sometimes I wish I could see better at night, sometimes I wish I had just slightly more privacy. I think if anything I'd go lighter on the sides tbh.
