The cyberturtle. That’s rough. I really stressed over the decision but in the end, the cyberbeast just lost on wait time and the impracticality of the extra speed. If it had been ready before the AWD, I probably would have bit. Congrats to you, however. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it immensely.
Did the same. Had a Beast order and the fact that my zip code meant Tesla couldn’t find an installer for the PowerShare sealed my fate. It lost its value proposition. I converted to a AWD and had a VIN a few days later. I get delivery early next week ?

As for the torque/offroad… I have a F350 that will handle torque. I have a Jeep Gladiator for off-road. Will I be taking my CT rock crawling? Not a chance in hell. It lacks stabilizer disconnects and it would need some alteration to some of the plastic parts so they don’t get wrecked. How often am I going to actually go 0-60 in 2.6 secs? Maybe less than 10-20 times over its life time. The light bar? I have a Jeep with a crap ton of KC lights on them. I used them once n 4 years.

So I saved 20k, gain 20 miles in range and now have extra money to do some fun upgrades. No regrets. It was pros vs cons for my personal reasons and the AWD won.

But the Beast certainly would have been fun. If Tesla got it to me early summer and I got the PowerShare… I may have kept the order. But I wasn’t going to wait until December. That one sealed the deal for me.

I hear you. All valid points not usually brought up. I think the AWD will be more than enough of a truck for me. I’ve pondered keeping my F150 for a work truck and keeping the CT clean. I probably won’t but I’ll be cleaning often—way more often than my F150 (at least for a while anyway!). I’m just so excited to lay my hands on the Cybertruck. I’m just waiting on the VIN. Early congrats on picking yours up next month!

Also on the fence with this.

Anyone done an “apples to apples” range comparison between the AWD and Beast?

Is the ~20 mile range difference as advertised closer if both vehicles are driven conservatively to maximize range or is the beast just inherently more inefficient with the added motor?
Weight isn't a big deal compared to aerodynamics for an EV, but it does matter to EPA range which includes a fair amount of stop and go. And the Beast both weighs more and it easier to consume more energy to accelerate. EPA range also assumes if you'll buy a vehicle that has get up and go, that you'll use more of it than if you don't.

I've been suffering trying to decide if I should switch the order to AWD! The wait for the Beast really sucks!

When did you place your order sir?

Ha ha. It’s a tough one! May 7 was the day I got the email and placed the order.

I ordered 1/23. It said Feb to Apr. Then I logged in 2 weeks ago when we could change orders. It then said Oct-Dec. There is no way I was going to wait that long. I ordered a 2023 Ford F350 HO Plantinum on 10/28/22. I got it delivered 1 year to the day … 10/28/23. I wasn’t going to do that again. I waited long enough.

Tesla forced my hand on doing a pros/cons and everything pointed to AWD. I made the change and I got a VIN a few days later.

Went with dual like most here. For me, the price difference wasn't worth it for the speed. The dual is plenty fast enough for me as I don't like to jet full speed out of a light on every stop, and we spend half the time always already cruising on freeways in my rural area. Figured it was just one more motor to go bad, lost a little range on already a lower range vehicle, etc.
