Took Delivery 4/25/24 wiper motor went out 40 miles later on way home in pouring rain!

Same boat - picked the truck up yesterday (it's awesome) and the wiper is not working at all. Unfortunately, I forgot to check it at delivery. VIN 9xxx and I'm not sure if something changed at some point because it seems like this would have been an issue earlier on. From reading posts, many are just DOA from the start now.

Lightning had a recall because of potential wiper motor malfunction. I used mine for a year and a half and it never broke, but eventually I took it in for the part just to be safe. I imagine that if there's a high enough failure rate, there's going to be another recall. This and the pedal are both very scary if they go wrong and something you can't mess around with.

The funny thing is I bet none of you even knew about the Lightning wiper motor recall. If one happens for the CT, it will be front page news everywhere.

Similar story. Had the truck for 2 days, first rain storm, 2 minutes driving, wiper dies. Been at service center for 4 days, “cannot source the part,” so i took it back and applied Rain X… we’ll see how long it takes for them to ‘source’ a new motor.

Typical new vehicle issues. Luckily the 48-volt wiper motor is easily accessible after removing the plastic frunk tub.

Our wiper has not worked since delivery. We also forgot to check it when we picked it up. Took it in to service on 5/9. They replaced the motor but the SC reached out and said replacing the motor did not work so they are looking into why. I now see in the app they are waiting on parts. Not sure if they ordered a new motor or if there is some other part to try. Given that so many people are having wiper motor issues I sense a recall and/or redesign coming.
