1. Did anyone else with a Cybertruck pre-order NOT receive the "$1000 off other models while you wait for your Cybertruck..." email?

2. Is the discount applicable to a new car in the inventory with a price adjustment (all of which are more than $1K) on Models 3 and Y?

I have a first day pre-order reservation, and I do see the RN on my Tesla account, but did not receive this email. I am considering purchasing a new 3 if the discount is additive to the quarter-end price adjustments on inventory cars. If not, then I will wait for the refreshed Highland whenever it gets here next year.

Thanks.

Ps. I suppose I could always make another reservation, receive the email, and then cancel to get my $250 refunded but that's unnecessary trouble unless the answer to the question 2 above was a certain 'Yes'.

I got one, Perhaps it's local, my Tesla store, Vancouver WA, has so much inventory they had to rent a parking lot across the street.

I have not received the email. (Yes i checked junk, searched etc)
I am located in BC.
I preordered two weeks after reveal. I just bought a M Y in July 2023 so perhaps they don't think i will lease one having just bought one.

I searched in all folders on my email account with no luck.

To those who did receive it, does the email contain any restriction on purchasing an inventory car?

Since I am in Seattle, and Vancouver WA is considered "local no-fee transfer" when searching for inventory cars, I am not sure that is the case.

I went and did a Test drive over the weekend for a Model Y and discussed the email with Tesla staff at the service center, asking all the questions about what the discount could be used on and how it works. Here is what I learned:

  • The discount can be applied to Inventory Cars and stacks with the existing discounts. Can't use it on used cars.
  • The discount also applies to leases
  • Your account is flagged with the promo, so you don't have to do anything special to get it other then login with the same account as your cybertruck when you place the order.
  • It can take up to three or so days for Tesla to reflect the discount on your order, it doesn't show on the order screen itself.
So yes, it is additive to the other discounts

Excellent! Thank you very much for your helpful response.

Note: There are restrictions on the deal - see the fine print in the email. You cannot place a CT reservation now and get the $1000 discount:

" *Active Cybertruck reservations placed before November 30, 2023, qualify for $1,000 off any new Model S, Model 3, Model X or Model Y ordered by December 31, 2023. Used vehicles are not eligible. Offer is limited to one per customer account, is nontransferable and may be combined with other offers. Terms are subject to change without notice. "

Thanks for sharing this very important information. If I decide to order a Model 3 this year, then I will reach out to Tesla first to see if I could receive the discount/email. I do have an active Cybertruck reservation placed during the 2019 'unveiling'.

1. I also did not receive the email. My reservation is under 4,000. I have a friend that did receive the email and is under 8,000.

2. I have never seen the truck in my phone app (iPhone), I only see it if I log onto my account at tesla.com.

My only hint about this is that my email changed after the reservation, but it's been long changed in my profile.

Thank you! You hinted at the most logical explanation of our not receiving the email: my Tesla account email too is different than the one I had used (accidentally, due to my Apple Pay settings at that time) to reserve. I was able to change that to my Tesla account about 4 years ago though. For what it's worth, I didn't receive Tesla email in my other account either (which no longer has the Cybertruck reservation, so that makes sense).

To your point 2, the Cybertruck reservations appear only on the Tesla website and not in the app -- that is normal for everyone I know.

If you buy b4 years end like the offer states you have to, you will not get the $7500 point of sale discount

I do not believe that to be an accurate statement because:

  1. Though I did not receive the email, the message posted by @Chip Geek states clearly that the car must be *ordered* by December 31st, which means that the delivery could well be in 2024 and the point-of-sale credit would apply.
  2. The point-of-sale credit on the Model 3 RWD and LR will reduce to $3750 according to Tesla's note on the order page. But, it looks like the Model 3P will be eligible for the $7500 POS credit.
  3. I do not yet know if the $79,990 Model X qualifies for the $7500 POS credit.

Regardless, the POS credit is a separate topic from the $1K discount availability to Cybertruck reservation holders.
