So, I was talking with a Tesla sales advisor (SA) and he said I don’t need to use a referral link that I had to place an order! He told me that since I’m a Tesla owner, I would automatically get a “Loyalty Credit” on my order! I was a bit confused as I hadn’t seen much talk about loyalty credits before so I pressed him on it -“Are you sure it’s the same $ off?” I asked and he assured me it was. I said $2,000, like the referral credit? He said yes. He then said I couldn’t even use a referral credit since those are for non-Tesla owners! Whaaaaat? I’m pretty sure I SHOULD USE a referral credit and it is more $$ than a “loyalty credit” but wanted to just ask here as I’m sure some of you will have a POSITIVE answer on this! Thanks!

Definitely use a referral if you can, since it helps 2 people instead of just one ?

Ahh, yes, that is a good reason enough! And aside from him telling me the referral code wouldn't work because I already own a Tesla, was either ignorance or BS, I'm guessing...

I feel sometimes the SA’s just are not aware of all the promotions or discounts. I would try to use a referral vs loyalty. I actually think the referral right now is better that the loyalty plus it helps two not just one. Feel free to use mine if you don’t have any from your friends. Let us know what happens in your ordering process!

I’m repeatedly surprised how Sales Agents seemingly have NO CLUE what’s going on! I asked the Monterey Tesla SA if he could see if any 2025 CTs were available and he went on to tell me that ALL of them are 2025s since around September! Of course I INSTANTLY knew he was clueless. He then pulled up all the CT inventory VINS of which he stated were all 2025s. As I leaned in and looked, I could easily tell they were all 24s-the R and they were all below 59xxx serials! So much for knowledgeable sales staff! I had to teach him how to tell! lol ?

“Sometimes feel?” As someone who has referred 29 others, he is full of it. And yes, I am an owner of a small fleet.

Similar Story,

I was setting up my order for my Cyber Truck and was looking at the military discount as I was configuring the order. At some point I stopped and was thinking about if I was going to go through with this.

A couple hours later I received a text from a SA with Tesla as ask me if I had any questions about the Military program. So I text him about something , and I ask if he could just call me later on and he did.

He did answer most of my questions, then he found out that I am a current Tesla owner, then he told me to make sure I use my referral number so I could get all the benefits from it. I did not think I could use it, but he said I could because Tesla looks at it as a PERK for current Tesla owners.

So I did, but guess what No Tesla referral credits showed up. And after several texts, it looks like I will not be getting the Tesla credits to use for supercharging or at the store like I was told.

BTW I picked up my truck Christmas Eve

A big letdown from such a good car company.

WOW, what a deception! I just can’t believe that so many SA’s are so poorly informed and wonder if it is more systematic M.O.?

He's correct, referral is only for new customers, existing customers can't use referral. Just try using it and see what happens. This isn't that hard folks.

When I ordered on Dec 2, I had seen a recommendation here to use my own referral code to "double dip" and I should receive a $2000 referral discount and $1000 in store credit as a Loyalty benefit for "referring myself." I used my own referral link and received the $2000 discount off the purchase price. One of the many automated emails I received right after the order said I will receive "Loyalty Benefits for buying another qualifying product".
But I picked up the truck on the 14th and two weeks later, I do not have anything for referring. So I think that was an auto send, and we can only get a total of $2000 off. If I had known then, I would have used another person's referral code.
Oh, well, still love the truck!

Good to know-thanks! …and it could still show up later or is this way past that usual credit showing up period?
