I like the idea and plan to do something similar. I am waiting for my roof rack and plan to attach the cameras there but will install the display(s) similarly to yours. How good is the sensitivity and resolution of the cameras you purchased?

They're decent cameras, configurable to 720p by default or 1080p by cutting a wire loop on the bottom of the camera. I kept 720p since the monitor is so small, and I'm not trying to make out license plate numbers. The monitor and camera are 5Vdc. The kit comes with a 12Vdc to 5Vdc cigarette lighter converter. I bought an adapter to source power from the OBDII port. The cameras have a 120 degree viewing angle so good coverage as long as you can deal with the distortion. There's more night glare from headlights than I like, but it's not intolerable.

This is the system I purchased, but from AliExpress instead of Amazon for $100 less. I didn't want to spend a lot since I viewed this to be a non-destructive experiment. I like the functionality and will continue using it unless and until something better comes up.

Since you are planning to mount the cameras on a roof rack, the shape of the camera may not be as limiting as for me. I wanted a camera that was reasonably compatible with the design of the Cybertruck. It's too bad there isn't a way to tap into the truck's repeater cameras. Maybe there is but it would be risky to attempt it.

Thanks. A pair of those could work quite well with this display behind the steering wheel. Use a Rspberry Pi to do the video stitching and handle touch screen commands. Not sure I want to go to that effort, though, now that FSD is going out (I'm getting it as I type this!).
