VIN to Delivery in 3 days! -- by calling Sunnyvale about their canceled Cybertruck orders!

Thanks to a great post by @savagecabbage , I was able to get my VIN and delivery 3 days after. If you’re in California and willing to travel, call Sunnyvale about their canceled Cybertrucks.

11/20/19 order
1/21 config SoCal
3/17 VIN (after calling)
3/20 Delivery!

I called one hour later after getting my VIN to schedule a delivery appointment.

This seems different. Typically if an order gets canceled the SC seems it back to Tesla and they reissue the VIN. Either strange coincidence, or not going to work. The practice of SC putting in the cancellation and Tesla reissuing a VIN keeps the SC from being able to allow their friends, family, bribes, etc… Just saying

I did something similar back when I got mine.
12/8 invite, 12/9 4:30 PM order, AWD, original delivery center was Sunnyvale.

I scrapped all the delivery data from here and FB groups and saw that Dublin was delivering faster than Sunnyvale.

I called the 1800 number at 9 am 2/4 and changed to Dublin. Got a vin at 11:30 am and took delivery 2/14 4:00 PM.

Either a lot of reservation holders suffered from buyers remorse or a lot of buyers rejected deliveries due to QC issues.

what the heck i called and they told me they are forbidden from assigning VINs manually and only "the system" can do it. i called 408-739-2034 did i call the wrong number ?

Geez send a few of them to Michigan!! Haven’t had one normal delivery that I am aware of!!

They have sooooo many here at Sunnyvale.

It's near the factory, basically, they had alot of Model 3s they had to reassign back when that was the new model. They have to check them over again before they get reissued.

No luck on my end trying to switch to Sunnyvale. They said they would just reach out when they reach out. The wait continues…

who told you this? You can switch your reservation any time you want.

who told you this? You can switch your reservation any time you want.

Meant no luck in getting a VIN. He said I could change it but it wouldn’t help me get the VIN any sooner. Maybe it would have and he just was unaware, idk.

I’ve heard of many people changing and then receiving a vin because the dealership they changed to had canceled orders or additional shipments
