I recently noticed a smell of refrigerant in my cybertruck which has cabin overheat protection enabled. The air conditioner is definitely not blowing as cold as before. will take it in to be serviced.

Does anyone find the CT air conditioning very weak?

On low temp, max fan, recirculation, and can barely bring the temps down on just an 82F day. And I have full ceramic window tint too!

And the fan makes a lot of noise but doesn't push a lot of air.
I had the same problem ever since I owned my cybertruck, and on a hot day driving through Las Vegas it overheated. I was able to get it to the service center and they found the connecter that connects power to the actuator that opens the louvers in front of the radiator was disconnected so those louvers never opened when they needed to. I believe it never had been connected at the factory because once they connected it the A/C worked perfectly even in the hottest days (100+). The frunk has to be removed to get to that connector.

Well huh. Ours pulls the truck down from 138F on the sun to 68F no issues.
There is a bunch of thermal data available in service mode.
Same here; in mid-day Texas Summer Sun.
Thankfully no issues on 2026.14.6.12 in a 2024.

I've always been disappointed in ours too. My 10 year old Ford blows much colder. I live rural as well. May be worth checking my filter and having that connection checked as well to open the flaps. Mine is a 25 AWD.

I had a loaner CT that was a little newer that felt like it was a bit colder than mine.
It didn't have the roof shade, so I decided I'd test removing my shade to see if it actually helped.
I think it actually might have helped a little bit? It definitely traps hot air between the shade and the roof glass. It's tough because now the sun beats into the cabin more, perhaps leading to hotter daytime peak temps, but I feel like it gets cooler faster without all the trapped hot air.

I've only had mine 2 days, but the AC is far superior to what I had in my 2023 Ram 1500.
