Maybe I wear my hat too low, but I have 2 strikeouts, and both happened while wearing a hat. Multiple reminders to apply pressure to wheel, and eventually giving me strikeouts. Have had no issues without a hat or wearing hat backwards. Hopefully this gets fixed.

Wow... it asked for pressure to the wheel? I wonder if that's caused by it not seeing your eyes? I haven't once had it ask for wheel pressure. I'm interested in the formula for what causes that.

Same. One strikeout while wearing a hat while being asked the whole drive to apply pressure to the wheel. Apparently I was too slow to turn the wheel a few times. No problem at all without a hat. I just need to not wear a hat if I want to use FSD.

I've had this come up. It actually detected my hat and said that my eyes are not visible because of it, and asked for tension on the steering wheel. I simply tip my hat up a little bit when driving so that the camera can see my eyes.

In your normal driving position while wearing your hat as you wore it when you were warned, look up at the in-cabin camera without moving your head. Can you see the camera? If not, then your hat is preventing the camera from seeing your eyes and that’s the problem. Here’s a short list of solutions, all guaranteed to solve the problem:

1. Don’t wear hats.
2. Don’t wear hats when you drive.
3. Don’t wear hats when you drive a Cybertruck.
4. Don’t wear hats when you drive a Cybertruck while using FSD.

I'm tall wear a hat and sunglasses and have hardly had any prompts to take the steering wheel. My head is usually pointed straight ahead. The only time I see it get fussy is if I'm looking at the screen for too long or I bring my phone into view.

If it's asking for input, then give it input. Look at the camera, relax, look up at the road, let it see your eyes, torque the steering squircle.

They are never going to give you FSD (Supervised) if they can't tell you're supervising. The steering torque is the solution.

I got a strike and many "please pay attention" messages while LOOKING ATTHE SCREEN IN THE CENTER of the truck!!! I AM paying attention but i need to look to the side to see why the screen is beeping or sending me the wrong way.

Folks, those "Please pay attention messages" mean it. If you get more than a few, then you get a strike.

There's no issue looking at the screen, you just can't do it for long without glancing back at the road.

I've got a probably over 200 miles on FSD from start to finish on a trips on local roads as well as Interstates, a few "Watch the roads" but no strikes.

It's amazing what follow the rules can do.

I've worn hat and sunglasses at same time with no issue. Maybe your camera lense is blurry?
No, it has to do with whether the brim of the hat blocks the camera from your eyes. If you can't see the camera witrhout tilting your head up, the camera can't see your eyes.

This is Telsa trying to keep the over-reaching arm of the regulators at bay. Remember how outraged a few loud mouths were when you could fool the driver monitoring with a steering wheel weight? That's why the pressure required to let FSD know you were paying attention had to increase. In 2019, a very light touch to the wheel would be detected.

But this isn't a problem once you know why it's nagging you. Either don't wear a hat with a brim, or tilt it up so the camera has line of sight to your eyes.

The hat thing is real. In summary:
vertically challenged + headwear = FSD no-likey.

You need to wear your hat backwards!
