Does anyone's windshield wiper move slightly at the start of their drives. Everytime I start driving, my windshield wiper does a small step, maybe 1/2" movement.

Last night I went on a drive for about 5 miles. I came back and hooked up the charging cable but it wouldn't charge. I charge to 80% and it was down to about 78%. I tried reconnecting it several times and it would not charge. Finally, this morning, the charge was lower and after looking at the status of the truck, it start to charge again. Does anyone have an idea why this happened?

Thanks

I've noticed the same thing! I thought it was just me, but I've started noticing it more often.

It may have triggered a BMS calibration, especially if the SOC was close to the charge limit (78% vs. 80%).

It seems like it’s been forever since Tesla said they would fix the automatic wiper setting to be more effective. I haven’t seen any improvement since.

A slight back and forth wiggle has been discovered by quite a few people; I've seen it myself but I don't know why it happens.

As for the charging, did your app display any errors or notifications?

There were no notifications. It just wouldn't start charging.

My wiper also does this I figured it was an auto alignment or a way to ensure the whole edge is all facing the same way.

I suppose the battery voltage had not dropped off enough to allow to charger to start. I think it may also help keep the reading accurate.

So what I've noticed is I don't think it will start to charge until it is roughly 3+% below your charge limit. I think it does this to prevent it from constantly charging to protect the battery. So if you have it set to 80% limit, when it drains to roughly 77% it will start charging. Obviously if you had like 60% battery it would start to charge when you plug it in.

Wiper moves about one inch intermittently (not always). With respect to your charging issue check to see it you have scheduled time on. Turn it off and see if your issue clears.

Occasionally, our wiper blade swipes across the windshield and resets. This happens without encountering rain or any water on the windshield. It’s like it’s trying to talk to us! Lol

Same here. I've now toggled wipers to OFF to make it stop since the wiper repeats this movement frequently. This is a new thing since the last update.

The wiper position adjusts to improve aero.
I recently delivered a tech session for the California Automotive Teachers Association and shared a few metrics on this. It's only 4° but I wonder what their measured gain was? I'd love to see what the Cd values were before and after in the wind tunnel.
