Cabin overheat protection has been on lately in SoCal when set at 100º F and eating my juice. I have:

- Llumar tint for windshield, all side windows.
- Umbrella style for sunshield for more heat reduction of the windshield.
- Shade with thin insulation taped to it for roof top.

Any suggestions to reduce the cabin temp?

Sounds like you’re doing as much as possible.

You can turn COHP off or to ‘fan only’ as well.

You could always do like a regular car without cabin overheat protection and crack the windows to vent mode and keep COP off.

Yes, it's going to get hot, that's what happens if you park a car in the sun. And it's only going to get worse as the globe becomes warmer.

Yes, but I hate dust, dirt, bugs, flies ... inside, less work to clean.

I believe he/she is talking about run the fan only with No AC before existing the truck.

I have a couple of ideas but not sure I'm gonna do them:

- Paint the tonneau white. Silver will match the body. On the trip to Vegas at the end of April the luggage inside the closed tonneau were extremely hot, almost unable to touch. Light color will reduce the temp for both cargo bed and the cabin. And now is Summer time, not sure how hot they're gonna get. Will plasti-dip stick on those slats?

- Use car cover in white/silver. I've bought one for F-150 (now discontinued) when first got my truck to stop nosy neighbors around similar to this one in silver. Just not very easy put it on by myself, specially with Santa Ana wind.

Move. ?

I’m also in Southern California. No way of beating the heat. I put a cheap Costco sun visor up and clip it on the rear view mirror so it stays up. This is just to keep the sun from damaging the display.

Yep. The earth has been heating up and cooling down cyclically since the beginning of time a la Milankovitch cycles and Schwabe cycles. Looks like we are in a heating cycle. ?

Let's cut the shit. The current warming is on top of the cyclical warming since the end of the last ice age. The earth's atmosphere is like a giant greenhouse. Make that greenhouse a more effective greenhouse by increasing the percentage of greenhouse gasses and the globe is going to get warmer. The globe is in the sun 24/7, if it absorbs more energy than it emits, it gets warmer.

We are at the beginning of the biggest experiment ever conducted by man. I won't be around to see how it ends but the best models we have, say it ain't going to be pretty.

And I don't have time to discuss this with amateur climate deniers who regurgitate the amaturish talking points of the minions and AI bots of big oil employed to spread falsehoods. They always start with a truth and end with a lie. Example:

The earth has been warming for thousands of years.
It's natural warming we are experiencing.

Many of these deniers were not even born when big tobacco was trying to convince people that smoking wasn't harmful to you. The evidence was overwhelming, but you still had idiots that believed it was good for you. Big tobacco's minions were medical doctors who would say anything for a buck. When the government started cracking down on the misinformation, they stopped claiming smoking was good, or not harmful, they just implied it by continuing to feature medical doctors who still smoked.

Eh, I’ll follow the actual evidence from science and not the emotionally driven dogma of Anthropologically caused Climate Change Religion.
