Many think they will just start from beginning of list and send emails again but something about this theory seems off.

If you have received the FS email you can open app see RN and start designing. Nothing on that first screen says anything about FS.

To all the sudden now lock you out of that screen while you wait for another email seems strange.

Thoughts?

With the "special" models Tesla has created in the past, they have always started over on the waiting list again when they started selling the normal version.

I'm not really sure what you mean. AFAIK, the ONLY thing that you can order IS the FS. All of the options, at least used to be, indicated as FS options with the associated price.

I'm guessing that at one point, they will turn off the FS orders and that screen will no longer be available. You may get a new screen that says FS is no longer available, you will be notified when you can order your Cybertruck.

Once you get your new invite, you can then order, just as you would do a Model Y today.

That will probably correspond with a little before factory switching over the line.

And at that point, it will be the normal Tesla ordering process. Your choice of options may significantly impact your delivery date. No one really knows what options will have the biggest impact.
But if it's like the other cars, they run vehicles in batches. With the FS, there's only been two batches, but without FS, there's a lot more, tires/wheels, interior trim, RWD/AWD/Beast, I may have missed some.

They may run one config for a week or even weeks, depending on the orders, before they switch to the next.

So the great Tesla lottery of when you are going to get your vehicle becomes significantly more complex.

But as has been shown

Reservation # first (with exceptions)
Order # next (reservation # now worthless)
And then the order #s are batched into config groups
And then trains an trucks have to be filled to make it to your location.

My guess?

After all FS invites have been sent out the software program will go back to the first wave of FS invites inviting them to configure a non-FS Cybertruck.

The choices should be Single Motor, Dual Motor and CyberBeast.

The conversion rate should be MUCH higher this time around.

Agree

But as I suggested, order the wrong trim and it may delay delivery. As in order the RWD, and that's probably mid next year wait.

As many here has speculated, once the FS has ended, they will go back to the top of the list and start sending out invite emails. So, anyone that has made reservations this year for example will be on the bottom of the list and will probably have to wait till the middle to the end of next year to get an invite. Also, I have a strong feeling they will take a page from Porsche and put almost everything as an option on the truck. Like having the same speakers as the FS will be optional, as well as the L-Track in the bed and so on… Tesla didn’t exactly make the FS limited and special, so in order to make the ones who purchased them not have “buyer’s remorse”. After all these are the Tesla ”fanboys” meaning they will be the first ones that will purchase new Tesla products again and you don’t want to piss them off.

Tesla has never cared about "pissing off previous buyers" in the past. See the 30k drop in price in the MS.

There will be options removed, like tires, d-rings, probably the white will be an upgrade, but Tesla typically shies away from too many options as it creates complexity in production.

You are probably right, but you never know.

I think it's extremely unlikely they remove speakers (that would reduce the quality of sound), suspension raising, range, seat heating/cooling, or anything significant from the 80k and 100k versions. They are more likely to increase the price than to do any of that.

FSD won't come included, the options we received won't be included, the interior color and tires upgrades likely won't be included (AT/white), but the rest will more than likely remain the same.

The FS paid for some upgrades, options, and early delivery.

Again, I’m not disagreeing with you. Based on Tesla in the past they tend not to take things out. However, removing speakers, seat heating/cooling, seat colors, tires, hooks, dividers, L-Track, and bed lights are all easy to take out and install. Things like suspension and range are a necessity for the operation of the truck so I doubt they will take that out. Maybe for the single motor they might. Remember, all Teslas are made to order.

It's an extremely automated and standardized process. In vehicles they paint, they make them in batches...same with options like the 3rd row in a MY.

The more options, the slower overall production. I agree the RWD will lose some niceties, but unlikely on their halo vehicles in the AWD/CB unless they begin dropping prices.

We will see soon enough.

Yall are missing the point that the current FS vehicles have an explicit list of what is ADDED to the vehicle. Take those away and you get the non-FS vehicles.

What isn't known is the RWD options, it very possible may have less speakers and cut backs in other areas to make it cheaper.

But the AWD and Beast specifications are already set in stone.

They will have to change wheels and tires to help differentiate a RWD "strippo" from an AWD and a top of the line CyberBeast.

Tesla can't change anything else on the exterior except maybe make the tonneau cover optional.

Tesla's are not made to order. They are very standardized and built with every option and mass produced in batches to achieve scale and cost efficiency. I highly doubt they will add complexity and change their business model to the old OEM style of many options/packages/variants.
Like every other Tesla model, you will have a choice of RWD, AWD, Cyberbeast; a choice of 2-3 wheels, 2 interior colors, and of course FSD can be purchased/subscribed to and downloaded at any time. The RWD will come de-contented with a lesser stereo, std wheels, and lesser suspsension. If you want those features you will have to get AWD or Beast, they will not be an option on RWD.
