Where will Tesla get 4680 batteries for the CyberTruck in 2024?

Tesla has already stated they have /will have enough batteries to satisfy their current plans. (did they say for the medium term?)

That would include CT, Semi, Mexico. And all current factories scaling up. imo

They also said they may face another shortage cycle longer term . I guess this may include the new factory perhaps announced later this year, and certainly, the extreme scale rollout of megapacks to 1TW by 2030.
Sounds like this week Tesla delayed the Semi possibly due to a shortage of batteries. I would guess that want to supply the CT over the Semi. Sigh, maybe next year or in 2025 battery production will have caught up to demand..

I don't think they will be 4680 cell constrained by the time Cybertruck hits 5k/ week by end of next year. Pricing will definitely reflect demand, and by early 2025 there will be multiple 4680 factories online in the US. I do believe pricing will be the deciding factor if the CT flops.

I'm curious if all other operations makes Tesla money, would Elon sell CT at cost to drive demand. Kinda like Costco selling their rotisserie chicken for $5. You make money on everything else, but you have this cool halo product and helps with your ultimate mission. 🤔
Funny that you compare Costco with their rotisserie chicken to Tesla, Costco uses Tesla’s business model of vertical integration. Costco owns their own poultry farm in Nebraska for the sole reason for the rotisserie chickens. Everybody thinks they lose money on the rotisserie chickens I am not sure about that it maybe a different story for $1.50 for a hotdog and a soda which has remained a constant since the mid 80s.

Costco has said publicly that they are "slightly negative" on the rotisserie chickens. Their own farming is the only reason they've held the price down where it is. The hot dog and soda special was on the chopping block until someone had the idea to move to fountain drinks. They are just slightly better than break even on the doggies, as of their comments last year (or maybe 2021, I don't remember). But neither is raking in the cash by itself. It's draw to bring you in for tonight's dinner or this afternoons lunch and watch you walk out with a three digit receipt is why they do it.
