Over the past few months, there's been some discussion of the very large Cyber Truck windshield wiper arm that has appeared on the prototype trucks. It got me to thinking over the weekend...

Is there any chance that Tesla will pull a "surprise" on production trucks coming later this year and include their patented electromagnetic windshield wiper system? The patent was applied for in 2019 (coincidence?) and granted in 2021. And if it won't be included on the Cyber truck, what vehicle would they roll it out on?

It is the most logical wiper concept so we can ā€˜hopeā€™ for it to happen but there has been no comment about it since Tesla got the patent approvedā€¦except for a blurb by ChatGPT

Since we haven't seen them using the magnetic wiper... It probably won't show up in the near term. Maybe on the Roadster.

The roadster windshield isnā€™t flat. I should think that this wiper design will really only work well with a flat windshield. What they might do is put it on a refreshed Cybertruck in a few years.

If I were Elon I would keep it top secret, put it on the CYBERTRUCK and not say anything.
We will here about it wen the first trucks are delivered. ;)

If there is not a design flaw or manufacturing problem they would include it since CT is suppose to be an insane technology bandwagon.

I am sure Franz has nightmares about BAW. If there is anyway that it won't be there, it will not. If it is there, it means they could not make anything else work.

The patent was for the Roadster, wasn't it?

Not on the links I am looking at. In fact, these images look like a 'regular' car where the wiper hides between the hood and the windshield, so that is closer to all the other Tesla vehicles than the Cybertruck, but it seems clear (to me) that it would work best with flatter windshields, and the Roadster windshield is probably the most curvacious of all the Tesla vehicles. This is all total guessing so you might be right.

All he said was 'that' (the first BAW) wouldn't be the final wiper, and that is 'all' he said. Don't get me wrong; I would love to see an electromagnetic wiper on the Cybertruck, but Elon hasn't said boo about it other than it is a problem and 'that' wiper wasn't the final design.
