The other day while driving about 45 mph on a local hwy, my windshield was hit twice. Interesting point is I was right by the Tesla dealership. After the surprise wore off it got me wondering, was I shot by a BB gun or something? (There were no trucks ahead of me.) I've driven many miles as a commercial driver and taken many rocks to the windshield, never twice.

Did it happen at the same moment or was the second hit subsequent? That is a hard impact whatever it is. Would a bb or pellet gun cause a circular hole behind the point of impact in laminated glass? I cannot tell from your photo if the fracture is only one side of the glass or both sides…

Either way that sucks.

ULA Sniper...

But seriously, that's no coincidence. The impacts look the same, like maybe the same type of pellet or BB hit both spots. May be worth reporting to the police before heading to SafeLite.

If they hit other vehicles, hopefully those owners report it also. If they catch a Tesla Sniper, they can add you to the list of charges against them eventually.

Definitely some kind of pellet or BB gun... The odds of two symmetrical sized rocks hitting the same area at the same time are impossible. Were you near an overpass by any chance at the time? Not to get all CSI, but looking at the angle of the impacts it looks like they were from above angled down. If it was a level shot the angle of the windshield would have deflected it up.

honestly too good of a grouping to be BB gun shot. Even if it was a highly trained marksman(which I’m guessing the type of person to vandalize a Tesla is not), BBs just wouldn’t be that consistent accurate, especially with a moving target.

too large for bb's; I would guess ball bearings about 4x the size of bb's or larger.

did you not save footage when it happened? were you anywhere near traffic that could have been hauling anything?

need more info.
