Agreed, the clips can be problematic, which is why I used trim-removal tools.

The SC may take issue with your 3rd-party electronic mirror if you ask them to perform the cleaning procedure. They might refuse, or make you waive claims over damage.
The Mirror camera is worth it though. Much better resolution, it doesn’t get dirty from road grime/rain (I live in the pacific NW) and I just can’t get used to looking for the rear view on the screen.

They clean it for free once under warranty. They actually recommended it in the app last year.
i’ve had my truck for about a year and never saw anything about that. Would you happen to have an image of the message they sent you? I’m worried that they will respond to my service request stating that they don’t know what I’m talking about.

I downloaded 2025.14.9 last night. My wiper didn't wipe this morning. After my drive home, I'll know if the problem was fixed among the multitude of "minor fixes" that 2025.14.9 corrected... I didn't notice any changes during my morning commute. (I wasn't even notified that Fluffy had updates on the screen)
Had the same dry wipes yesterday during a sunny drive with the latest 2025.14.9 installed. I would like to have a toggle option to turn this off temporarily for a specifics amount of time so that engaging and un-engaging FSD or Autopilot would not automatically turn it back on during a drive when this is desired.

I think about 90 % of my wind shield wiper swipes have been uncommanded dry wipes. It’s actually gotten more frequent, and now I’m approaching the point the blade needs to be replaced. How can Tesla expect this won’t alienate its customers.

I put my deposit down on a car that was never going to need me to replace a wiper blade ever! Laser beams were going to target rain drops and evaporate them off the window. What I was delivered is the most expensive wiper ever, that had problems with the motor that operated it requiring a recall, that didn’t effectively deliver windshield washer fluid, was designed to leave the rubber blade exposed to the sun which contributes to its deterioration and wipes across the dry glass with nearly every drive.

Replacing the entire Cybertruck windshield wiper assembly, including the arm and blade, will cost around $165. Replacing just the wiper blade itself costs $75. The full windshield, which is quite large on the Cybertruck, is also expensive, costing $1,900 to replace

I took the time to clean under my glare shield last week. I do have the Hansshow rear view camera installed with the wires under the beauty cover. I took this opportunity to remove the front facing camera (from the Hansshow mirror dash cam system) to free up just a little more room under the cover.
The process of cleaning the window beneath the glare shield is really simple. I also used lens cleaning wipes to clean the camera. Reassembly of the glare shield and the beauty cover and the hansshow mirror was not trivial, but I was mentally prepared for the various dropped screw, the body contortions and at the end, it was all better than when 'i started. It took less than an hour total. Without the digital mirror, it's a 10 minute job at most.

Results : before cleaning, there was a bit of haze on my forward looking sentry clips. Afterwards, the views seem moderately better. Not as crisp as any of the other cameras around the truck.

In the one week since cleaning, I have had no dry wipes when using FSD. It would not surprise me if today I get one. The window did not look hazy before cleaning at all. But I really wanted to try to reduce the dry wipes if possible.

It is really simple, especially if you have the stock mirror. if you have some spare time, you might want to try it.

I cleaned mine last week - was getting a warning that cameras are obscured.
Very easy to do yourself, just be careful as it's easy to break the clips on the glare shield
