Hey! They spelled Yakama wrong!

That is pretty wild. I had no idea. Thanks for sending that. I wonder if that is where they got the name from. I guess I don't know much about the history of the company in this case. I honestly assumed Yakima was a Japanese name from the sound of it.

No. Yakima valley in Eastern Washington. My father in law grew up in Wapato and has told me the company was originally based there.

Is the road warrior attachment big enough to hold a spare tire you guys think?

This should help. We loaded light stuff in the Yakima. Heavy towards front of the bed. So no load issues for us. The suspension seemed to handle it much better than my raptor.
the swing is in the photos. This should help it make sense. Tailgate can be opened when the Yakima is swung open. Both levels.

Realize I’m reviving an old thread here but thinking of getting one of these that is being sold used locally. If you put the second level on, that completely obstructs the camera right so you lose FSD?

as long as trailer mode is off, fsd will work. I drove from philly to madison wisconsin with my rear cam blocked by my hitch tent. fsd all the way no probs.

How does it know what’s behind it? Composite from the two side cams that look backish I guess?
I have an electronic mirror that’s roof mounted so if that’s true I lose nothing really.
Madison is such a great town.

Added this toy to the stable of Cybertruck “necessities”. Thanks for the awesome suggestion. Didn’t even know this thing existed.

Starting to really like this thing. And want to thank you again for the awesome recommendation/inspiration. This wasn’t even on my radar until this thread.
I can get most of my camping equipment minus the cybertent on it without interfering with the FSD camera and still have basically an entire bed for play things. never thought space would be an issue in a pickup truck but here I am. It feels downright liberating.
It also means my camping gear is mostly prepacked which means leaving on a whim is a legit possibility. If you knew my family you’d realize this is a HUGE benefit. See picture below, my rinsekit, fire gear, power station, toilet, floor, lighting and shade structure as well as few other doodads are all already on there basically from the last trip.
Also, my coody koala inflatable tent fits in it beautifully so if I want to skip the cybertent, have a larger space and the ability to still use the truck while my camp is still set up, that’s easy to do. Having wheels on it makes the 80 or so lbs weight of the koala 7 a complete nonissue. You just throw down a tarp, wheel the cart over to the middle of it, throw it off the cart and plug in a SUP pump. Then stake it and Bam…giant base camp you can still 4 wheel drive from or run into town for supplies or carry gear down to the water etc.
Speaking of which yet another very useful application I’ve found is putting all my inflatable boat stuff on it and using the cart. I just wheel everything down to the water and use a rechargeable sup pump to inflate it right there and then take the empty cart back. So convenient.
And as for range impact, I’m smart enough to know there is no free lunch in physics, but this is amongst the most subsidized lunches I’ve experienced. I’ve been struggling to measure detectable range loss to share with you guys. I’m sure there is some,, just not that I can tell.
Thanks again for the awesome rec. if it’s not something you’ve ever considered for your CT, maybe reconsider.
Currently looking for a nice cover to put over it since I’m leaving a bunch of gear on it regularly. Anyone got recommendations?

But but but… my departure angle!

Works great, I do not know about compatibility with CT though

From experience with power charger cables… you’ll be parking sideways for sure… you’ll be popular at SC stations
Great point
Total buzz kill for this
It will feel like the of having a trailer at a back in supercharger
OMG

You lose your tailgate wrap?

More importantly are you able to supercharge with it swung open?

with the wheel cart ability it negates the need to swing open in the first place? regarding supercharging?

They had to replace my tailgate for wobbliness and I haven't redone it yet so been rocking the tailgate pad. It’s kind of unique look but I think I’ll rewrap. I’m able to supercharge most of the time without swinging at all either by getting uncomfortably close to the charger or by using a side charger stall but I’ve also swung it open and aimed it between two chargers and it works great.
never had to put on the wheels and take it off to charge.

What a neat little thing. You’re gonna make me blow my cybertruck budget again Ace. Thank you for the insight, again.

your tailgate was “wobbly” how? Mine was loose where you could push it in easily, they installed a bracket now it’s solid as a rock. Regardless it’s fixed, congrats.

you still have posted that Soli Tent pic yet. Does the back end of the CT fit underneath it?

Yes it does. And in true comical fashion I did it the day I dropped my phone in the lake. I promise, I will send a picture.

Same for me. Just pushed in easily. Raintree sc insisted they needed to replace it.
