I somehow missed the posts discussing this way back in December. Apparently mine has been doing the same random stopping of charge as yours for around 2 months. I need to peruse the forum more diligently, thankfully I caught this while I still have 2k miles left on the warranty.

Yea hop into service mode and see if you see some PCS_xxx errors. Take a screen shot next time it’s alerts you it stopped and make a service apt so it’s at least logged and you can fall back to it when it does fully fail.

Should I be concerned/ask about re-sealing the compartment given the recent YouTube video about dust getting in and frying the battery after this fix?

Not that I don't trust YouTubers, but ummm... frying the battery??

The video said (emphasis mine):

"When the PCS or power conversion system was replaced previously in July, the seals that prevent intrusion from the elements into that area were not replaced. Instead, after the PCS was fixed, everything was closed using the same seals. This allowed dirt from the many off-road trails I have been driving on to find its way onto an area that needs to remain clean, causing intermittent shorts in the communication harness that damaged the high voltage battery."​

The PCS R&R Procedure does not specifically recommend replacing these seals, but obviously any seal should be replaced if damaged during disassembly. Foreign contaminants inside sensitive electronics are never a good thing.

Regardless, there is no way to "re-seal" this area (HV pack penthouse, under the ancillary cover) post-hoc without going through the entire disassembly again.

Basically, one would need to trust that the repair was done properly.

There was an episode of Stargate SG-1 wherein a ships' commander yelled "prepare to fire!", which got the wry response "I'm the weapons officer, I'm always prepared to fire."

I never tell a professional "please do the job correctly", mostly because they should already be doing it correctly? The question implies that I doubt their competence.

Of course, I never send food back to the kitchen, either, unless it's absolutely inedible.
