Installed OEM like Lightbar on the windshield

I just upgraded my truck with a Tesstudio lightbar. Instead of the traditional mounts, this one sticks directly to the windshield with adhesive tape, similar to the OEM lightbar. I actually prefer this solution—it's easier to install (though I'm not entirely convinced about UNinstalling, haha). Got it installed on the truck and tested.

That was quite fun ?

Will be interesting how it holds up at speed…. Even some of the OEM off-road light bars had issues with adhesive.. let us know how it goes.

You mean if it goes flying off someday? ? I don't think so, it's seated there pretty securely as I can judge, but I'd definitely put it through some really cold weather. That's usually when adhesive gets weak. It holds during a brushed car wash, that I can confirm ?

So those appear to have little tabs
on the back of the lightbar that fit between the windshield and roof glass.
Don’t think the oem light bar does that.
Do they press in there for some structural support or are they mostly cosmetic?

Same. Install was relatively simple and painless

They serve mostly for positioning purpose.

Cool. Seems like a missed opportunity.
I can picture that being a good place to add some non-tape-dependent stability to the whole thing.

I've driven with this for hundreds of miles, during a rain storm, sometimes with temp down to the low 30's, most on wide open interstates at speed well over 100 mph. Rock solid.

adhesive works well if you apply it in the correct way - clean the surface with adhesion promoter. Looks clean after installed!

Thanks for the detailed installed video and review. The drone shot from above really shows the difference the light bar makes at night.

Really is a great video. Thank you. A couple question those of you who have installed this thing already.
1. Did you place the little tabs in the space between the roof and windshield glass or a little lower? It seems like a little lower would have an aerodynamic benefit but I’m worried the little tabs will means it’s not completely flat in the glass and may compromise the adhesive. Thoughts?
2. anybody give thought to putting a thin coat of adhesive promoter there before sticking? It’s not 3m tape but it looks like strips of knockoff VHB.
3. what wire attachment method did you use and why? Crimps? Solder? Would you do something different if you did it again?

Nice install and the performance looks great. I would like the capabilities of the OEM....dimming and ditch lights
