Hrmm, reading this in detail - our 2024 CT's might not have this same crash rating.

Yeah but if you survive, you can upgrade to a 2025 model 🤷‍♂️

The NHTSA’s note strongly suggests the five-star front passenger rating for the 2025 Cybertruck (for vehicles built on or after January 9, 2025, with software updates from April 8, 2025) is due to a software change, likely refining the restraint control system (e.g., airbag deployment or seatbelt pretensioners) to better protect the passenger dummy. It would be great if Wes confirmed the 2024 Cybertruck with software updates made available on or after April 8, 2025 would also be 5 stars for the front Passenger crash tests, unless there were also some physical changes made to the Cybertruck front passenger area on January 9, 2025? Wes?

That it doesn't say 'all' or give more than one set of ranges does indicate a part or structural change as well as the software.

The rating was still really high before!

And remember, the tests get more stringent each year as technology progresses. Older models will always be 'less' safe the newer that get the same rating.

Teslas are still way safer than anything I can afford to drive!
