The Cybertruck is supposed to be high 5k low 6k pounds.

Unless Canadians use a weird pound, too.

This is a bad idea, to link incentives to higher weight. We do that in the US and it created a perverse incentive to buy big, dangerous vehicles for small businesses instead of right-sizing their fleet.

Hasnt that ship sailed already? with no Tesla cars remaining eligible now after the last series or price hikes?
I think its a safe bet, the CT won't be cheaper than a base M3.

They kept the cheap, crippled Model 3 in Canada for an extra nine months or so to get the benefit.

It's going to be wildly popular if it suprasses the 8501 pounds criteria to qualify!
Would have to purchase through a company though, they don't specify what kind of business required to qualify - sole proprietor? LLC? will see I guess..

another useless Canadian EV rebate - it does nothing for the vast majority of people that aren't businesses that might want a truck.

Dumb Canadians. It's so simple. Why don't they just offer a rebate for everyone living here in California? :D

Have you guys heard if the lightning will squeeze under the threshold? It seems like the Pro model would get under the 60k and then the XLT under the 70.

I agree it's dumb, but, better than nothing. It got BC to the best EV uptake in North America. Glad that Tesla played their game for a while with the lowball model 3. Now Ford is in a good position to play and CT needs to dangle that 40K single motor in the pond too. All very funny.
