*Tesla MYP *SAWD Cybertruck ordered 2/20/26

It’s a going to be a 5-seat vehicle for safety reasons. The person in the front middle seat would kiss the fixed 18” monitor in a vehicle collision.

Benefit is differentiate product. It would be very useful for the people who work out of a truck.
I plan on storing tools in frunk and having a ready work surface would be very nice ... Yes I can use tail gate but front gate would be nice.... Along with the ability to light up that space which the tailgate has difficulty doing.
Why do you think a front tailgate is more complicated than a hood that lifts the front like Ford has. Have you looked at the extreme mechanisms Ford used to hold it shut?
I see. However like a tailgate it would make reaching inside harder, particularly if the frunk volume extends under the windshield as we (all?) hope.

More components, you need additional latches and hinges that allow the grille to flip down like a tailgate and then you still have the mechanism that lifts up the hood. With the Ligthning style frunk you just have the latter.

Well, this is actually bad news for me. 5 seats is a deal breaker.... Sucks to be a fan boy for 3 years to find out they won't have the 6th seat, my wife said she would make me stay home before one of the kids.
I consider myself in a similar position. However, I don’t choose to believe this thread. I’ll wait for more data. Then I’ll either be unhappy or not. Until then I say keep your pants on, especially if your family size is currently perfect for 6 seats. ;)

Hahaha, one thing he got wrong! :p

I have very little faith in anything that attention seeker has to say.
He did get some time with Tesla folks and seems to have gotten some inside/ non-Public stuff.

He’s just extrapolated more out of it then what he actually got which makes it hard to separate the signal from the noise.

Another in a long list of things that to me indicate one conclusion: the unveil proto/stats, musk’s tweets, and certainly the website contents, are fleeting things to lend any authority to.

Whereas a “pre-production prototype” that is in theory less than two quarters from supposed production start date, and being socialized with investors in the same financial year, is probably a pretty good barometer of which way the wind is blowing

Not to say that unveil performance stats (eg 500mi range) don’t have a significant stake in the ground, but lots can change in 4 years between unveil and production start

including for the better: don’t forget the UI patent dumby screens hinting at 610mi range
What sharing the pre-production prototype with investors made abundantly clear (evidence is MDR's so-called 'reporting') is that many/most investors know nothing about the Cybertruck. The very fact that they are happy to reverse their own 'facts' tells the whole story. I expect MDR to roll back all of his predictions one by one to keep people coming back to his site. As always, we know that Tesla under promises and over delivers so MDRs statements that roll back features or specs should be ignored and chastised.

The following additions were made to the owners manual in light of this:

Caution: Do not sit in Frunk while the vehicle is driving. While it may be comfortable, the open frunk obscures the driver’s view.

Extro Caution: Do not remove the frunk lid so you can sit in the frunk while the vehicle is driving. Squished humans are difficult to clean from frunk surfaces.

I agree that he has extrapolated from what he heard/saw and so I know he is neither a real journalist nor remotely an engineer. But we differ in that you say it is "hard to separate the signal from the noise" whereas I saw no signal at all. If I find a chip in any part of the story then the entire story (and, more notably, the story teller) is suspect.
