I agree on the rr screen. Who needs that screen in the back anyway? Most kids will be on their phones, won't they.

Only they need in the rear area are cup holders and lots of USB power ports! Maybe even an AC power port or two now we know it’s on 48V system which will support higher power output.

It would be nice if they can control seat heating/ventilating and separate ac as well

Sorry if I missed it being posted, but dude did a follow-on interview

Admittedly I didn’t watch all 1hr of it, but skipping through seemed to be just more hype (presenting guys info as “previously unknown information”) and the “interview” regurgitates the same info, without much clarification.

The interviewer was clearly a dunce on the details.

Again insisting this “special accessory team” is some shocking revelation. I mean, if you’re building a truck, don’t we expect the manufacturer to have to get into the standard accessories? I know that hasn’t really been Tesla’s lane before, but … it’s a truck.

But again on dimensions he continues

• He says staff told him “about 5% smaller”

• “I believe the glass window does still go all the way down”

• he says he was told the exact bed measurements by staff on hand, and then measured with his phone to confirm (as contrasted with the length/width measurements he took with his phone)

• “I was specifically told by the Tesla CyberTruck staff, this vehicle is about 5% narrower than the prototype so we can’t fit the extra seat it would be too narrow, so going by what I was told directly by Tesla staff it’s not a safety thing it’s a size thing”

• he asked staff “why did you switch to quad motor” and response was “I wouldn’t be so sure it’s going to be quad motor”

• “I spent close to an hour talking CyberTruck to these staff”

• asked how air suspension setup will compete in Baja, and they said “they have tested it and jumped it” and it’s built to handle that sort of load

• had a chance to meet and chat with the CyberTruck Team, who worked on it since before the unveil - they were “pumped, so hyped to release the vehicle”

I too think a frunk-gate (head-gate?) would be cool

however one issue for that setup in CT compared to Lightning: the CT frunk appears to be so deep that I don’t know how we reach the back even without a frunk-gate. With a frunk-gate it’ll need a sliding deck!

hmmm….
This is where the 'Frunk-gate' comes with the 'Elon-gation' feature built-in!
Nothing like 'The Present' ;)

He's got such a punchable face and he's really milking that ticket to investor day. I do think he's probably right the stuff he says he heard from staff, less so on his imaginating on price, etc. But he should shut up now. He's not an insider in any capacity.

ouch. When Sandy Munro was at the event, as well as many other folks I listen to, no one seemed to offer up any cool info. Sandy got what he could discern from what he saw while walking around. This gentleman however, is a never ending font of insight. I can’t imagine how he manages to do it. Then again I still want my deal breaking 6th seat. So, maybe it’s just me.

MDR's Twitter profile starts as:

So the first Tesla vehicle came out in 2008. Since then (or whenever MDR had the cash to buy his first Tesla) he has subsequently owned 13 Tesla vehicles? That is 13 vehicles in possibly 15 years. Dude, way to commit. You seem to commit to Tesla vehicles about as much as you commit to your reporting scoops.
BS artist.

I was not trying to say or imply anything against you but rather about MDR (and his ilk). It is true that many of 'us' are retail investors, but not large-volume retail investors, most likely, and we are very knowledgable about the Cybertruck (whether we agree or not on details notwithstanding). I was thinking in general about Wall Street types and I am, admittedly, biased. If MDR was really interested in the Cybertruck he would be a regular participant here. He is not.

That said, I think that there is another (C) interpretation (and you may think that B and C are essentially the same), and that is that there are several pre-production prototypes in the wild, with various implementations of various features, and that Tesla put one of them (perhaps the closest to GigaAustin) on the stage not caring what the invitees took away from it (perhaps not even expecting them to make a big video deal of it). The people normally guarding the vehicles have some [kind of] knowledge but it is questionable how their knowledge translates to the final design version. We do not know.

One thing that we absolutely know is that someone with real knowledge will be able to cite the source of their knowledge, and doesn't change their story when challenged. Perhaps Tesla hasn't said anything about what MDR claimed because they never say anything about anything any of us say. They just let the rumor mill churn away but they haven't changed their story about what features and specs the CT will have. If people believe MDR then fine. If they don't then fine. But he is neither an authoritative nor an official source.
Nor a cybertruck insider.
