Just curious what everyone's opinion is on how much you are willing to pay for a CT before saying it's not worth it.

I'd be fine up to $100k pre-FSD as long as it has the range, interior room, and other features I'm looking for.

The answer isn't whether we would pay a price - but whether 250k people a year will.

-Crissa
It's a relevant question if Tesla follows their typical model and delivers the most expensive versions first.

For Tesla to sell 250k per year, IMO, it has to be under $70k, but I don't believe the initial trucks will be under $80k.

$80K, after that price point is pretty ridiculous IMO.

I believe the initial launch will to be over $80k because of competitive pricing (Ford, Rivian) and the fact that Tesla didn't submit the CT to the IRS to qualify for tax breaks this year or next year, but that doesn't mean there won't be a lower cost version released. Will that make you cancel? Or are you expecting the top trim/Plaid version for 80k?

I understand where you are coming from. I originally ordered the dual motor but would love to upgrade if the price is right. I guess my breaking point is if the dual motor (whenever that is released) is over $80K.

I seriously doubt the dual motor would be or they'd never get to 250k per year.

If first to come out is over 80k I will have to wait until one under that comes out.

If that's the case I might be snagging a lightning

The lightning is right around that and over $80k... Especially when you factor in those dealer markups. Would you really settle for that for what amounts to about the same price? Seems odd

I definitely think there will be a price shock or maybe a huge range reduction, otherwise why would Elon change his stance from the CT having a crazy high demand and changing the truck market to "It depends on demand, it will be small in the grand scheme of things".

You think that Tesla was lying with their 69420 target price when Rivian already had priced theirs above that and Ford hadn't announced anything?

Under 80k and over 80k has like a 10k difference for me because of tax credits. I wouldn't let the dealers scalp me though. Of that happened I just wouldn't get a truck I guess lol

Tesla wants to beat them all, so no I don't think they'll price high. they want CTs out on the road in numbers..... not rare.
