This one’s s for all the boat owners out there. Want to see if what I’m thinking would work....
On my boat, I have a Drotto Latch.

If I’m fishing by myself, I should be able to back up to the launch with the boat almost to the water, get out of the Cybertruck and into the boat. Then, use my phone to back the boat all the way into the water. All I have to do is pull the string on the Drotto Latch to release the boat and I’m free to back the boat off the trailer and tie to dock.

I could even use my phone to pull the trailer out of the water a bit. Then get in the truck and park it.

You have to understand what a Drotto is...

What do you think? Would it work?

What a game changer for launching a boat!

Right now it is way too early to say, but fingers crossed. I'm hoping I can program in destination, hit START and take it easy. Working nights it is hard to stay awake on way home. Literally tapped a Suburban last year on way home as I was drowsy and saw traffic came to halt at construction zone that was not there day before. $2500 damage to my car plus whatever for the scratched bumper on Suburban. Would like to know those days are a distant memory.

The problem with your idea as things are currently implemented is that Summion would see the boat behind the truck as an obstacle and refuse to move. As what you have in mind would be of benefit to many, people should petition Tesla for a Boat Launch mode for the App.

It's not a question of automation so much as how much easier this would make launch and retrieval for someone doing it by himself. This should translate into less ramp occupancy time and thus less waiting time for those waiting on the queue.

I'm cool with remote controlled boat launch mode. But I wouldn't trust fully automated

Exactly my thoughts!! Most definitely should work and just have the CyberTruck park itself. I sure that will just be one capability. 2023 cannot get here soon enough.

I used to have a lot of boats myself because my cottage yard overlooked the river. But now I have noticed that it is almost pointless to buy a regular ship or boat. I plan to get a boat because I was in Miami recently and managed to boat rentals miami, and I am thrilled with it. When I rented a boat, I really diversified my vacation: I snorkeled and watched dolphins and whales and sea turtles. I also went fishing a lot. By the way, I visited several port towns and saw a lot of exciting things. I don't think I would have been able to do that on an average boat or boat.

I was always more concerned how slippery the ramp when hauling the boat out Instead of launching.
