I can’t wait to have to clean out the charging port after a good mudding session.
It looks like there is a good seal on the interior of the charging port cover. Hopefully that keeps it water (and mud) tight.

Definitely giving midsize truck vibes at that ride height, new category upper-midsize truck? :)
My F-150 4x4 has the stock ride height and, even though I'm 6'-04" tall, it's way too tall to be climbing in and out of when I'm trying to get stuff done. For example, when I'm on a Forest Service Road scouting for firewood, I don't need the high ground clearance but there is nothing I can do about it. I need to get in and out of the cab to get a better look at the downed wood, identify the species and decide if I want to cut it or not. I have to do this up to 5-10 times in just 20 or 30 minutes and it gets old climbing in/out of the stock height cab. It's just stupid for a 1/2 ton truck.

You can tell the truck posers because they try to turn a positve into a negative without ever having used a real truck to do real work. These will be the guys cruising around in their Cybertrucks with the suspension cranked to max height allowed, just because they think it looks cool, even though there is no point in it.

Oh, yeah, they will claim it's for safety, so they can "see over other cars". But guess what, my Model 3 Performance has a real low seating position and I've never felt unsafe in it. I feel more unsafe in my F-150 because I could roll over if I need to take evasive manuevers. The Model 3 handles like it's on a rail because it's low to the ground. This is one thing I love about the Cybertruck, it's low to the ground for handling when there is no real reason for additional ground clearance, but it will magically rise up on command to navigate rugged sections.

Anyone who tries to position this as a negative probably has very limited to no experience working out of a full-sized 1/2 ton truck in the last decade or so, especially a 4x4 model, with the higher OEM body height.

1) All Tesla’s do the window-down thing. Talk to anyone with one. They have for years and it isn’t a BFD. You get more rain inside just opening the door to get inside.
2) The younger child kneed-in to the vehicle, but if you noticed his height and leg dimension, he did not need to. It was not that high up. He could have easily lifted his leg higher. I surmise this is just what he does. Kids do kid stuff. Leading me to
3) Watch the video again, see it is low to the ground, just like mentioned by another poster. Is it too high up for the youngster to get in or is too low per your idea of how high up the truck should be lifted. Cybertruck does have at least 8 inches (per previous announced stats) of vertical travel. Lowers so you or others can get in comfortably, raises as needed. No issue.
It’s great that it’s adjustable, makes getting elderly and young kids into the vehicle so much easier.

Some people want a lifted truck to go off-roading.

Some people want a lifted truck so it looks like they go off-roading.

I hear GM made the Hummer Specifically to target these guys.

The truck seems very low to the ground. Not sure if I like that.
It has an adaptive air suspension set up. It can raise or lower depending on use. I have this similar suspension in my Rivian R1T, R1S and Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe. They all have a "kneel" mode whereby the suspension goes to its respective lowest ride height for easier ingress and egress. You will grow to love this feature.

Just curious, does the R1T have a mode that goes high in front while simultaneously going low in the rear in order to lower the tailgate as low as possible?

I thought "kneel" referred to that, while "squatting" would refer to low in front and back. I'm just curious as to what terminology Rivian uses and whether it can go high front and low rear.

Convinced that Franz gave a nod to the Valiant of the 1970s, but this time the peace sign has a NEW 'Hey Charger' meaning!

This is horrible placement. I can see this getting ripped off. They should have left it at the original concept location.

The origional concept had them cutting into the stainless ( same as the door handles) there is less possibility of fitment issues if they don't have to cut into the stainless . Depending upon how well sealed this is tesla may need to make some changes after a few people take this mudding or they may need to include an inner rubber cover or plug to protect the charge port

I was more concerned about a tree branch on a trail ripping the door open.. or off. I dont really care about a little dirt getting inside.. thats no different then a fuel door. But fuel doors also aren't normally mounted on a fender flare. IDK.. it just seems stupid to me.

Nothing a little duct tape cant solve ?

I agree, but it will be at the beach a lot and camping locations, so I will be using the height adjustments... and I'm getting the aggressive tires... I know, I'm willing to sacrifice a few miles for the assurance of not getting stuck off-road.
I'll wait to see what tires Tesla offers. I have bought my tires from Les Schwab for many years. They now offer the Vredestein Pinza ATs. Previously I've purchased Toyo tires but these are reasonably priced and they have an aggressive enough tread to handle the limited off-roading I do as well as driving in snow and rain. The really aggressive tread Tesla showed on the original CT would be a waste for my driving.

These are still pretty new and got me through some snow this past winter. My parking spot is gravel, so I always do some "off-roading" when taking out my truck. ;)
