I can agree in part, but disagree with ā€œdisgustingā€. I too, first EV, need price to be…
have you priced a truck lately? We all need to go look at the stickers of nice trucks to prepare ourselves for price day, especially those of us driving older, basic trucks.
The seat looks just like a farm tractor, looks rugged. I’ve never had a seat rail fall apart but I know Keep It Simple Stu.. has solved a lot of problems in my industry. That rugged base might allow a lockable gun box under the seat, if you choose that. The simplicity of the cabin is attractive to me, stainless steel is not pretty like red metal flake but for a truck, its what I’m after. I expect there will be a boot around the steering shaft and other ā€˜cosmetries’ but if box steel for the seat structure is cheaper, available, and stronger than fabricating a custom rail, I’m all in. No carpet on the floor, I’ll blow it out with a leaf blower just like I do my XL F-150. By the way, seat comfort has been a focus for Mr. Musk since, before 2012.
He might not make rockets like the other guys do, but you have to admit, his are as reliable as theirs and way more cool to watch.
I'm not a truck guy, but this one is just different, has ss panels, and most importantly had the best mileage/price at the time.
Regarding the price, probably the ones that "were buying" this for >100k, now will think if they will pay the initial price!
Time will tell and I only expect to take the decision in 2025!

The upper part of the dashboard is simple but looks ok. The bottom just looks low quality and the glove box looks just miserable.
The seat's support looks worse than a farm tractor!
Excellent! So, can we count on you to cancel your resevation?

The Ford cockpit just looks ridiculous and oozes Detroit fake luxury. It even has buttons and switches on the kneeboard! That's the same problem my F-150 from 13 years ago has! And the plastics Ford used are so cheap looking my wife still comments on how poorly they wear and how cheap it looks.

I have reservation and eventually it will be my first EV, if the price will be near what was initially announced.
This was never expected to be a heavy duty truck, but this view is just disgusting comparing with the trucks that are in the market.

In the past I thought it may have been an accessory to hold for 3rd party equipment i.e. Emergency services/Police etc.

Whilst it may still be for that purpose, perhaps it is also a permanent cover.

I hope all of my fellow reservation holders love minimalist interiors. Tesla has taken it to an extreme with the Cybertruck. The designers have simplified the interior as far as they can go. The design also helps lower production costs.

Driver will have:
-accelerator pedal
-brake pedal
-steering wheel
-18ā€ display

The CT will reportedly copy the Model S and will not have a P-D-R stalk or turn signal stalk. Turn signals will be operated by buttons on the steering wheel and P-D-R will be operated by your finger on the display.

Itā€˜s going to take some muscle memory before drivers get used to the turn signal buttons on the steering wheel instead of reaching for a conventional stalk.

It will need to have physical buttons for drive, neutral and reverse as well as hazards as required. The S has them, just slightly hidden. I'm actually quite interested in where they place them in the Cybertruck.
