Help me out digital gearheads… no spline shaft on the column in my day meant no mechanical linkage to the gear box, that would confirm digital steering. Anybody with expertise on the topic of what lies behind a modern day steering wheel with airbags, please correct me.
The wheel has a male end and it mounts into a splined receiver.
Whether or not the CT has a direct mechanical/hydraulic linkage? I have no idea.

It's indeterminate if the pictured Cybertruck has a steering column or not. But, I see what you are saying about the steering column (if there is one) having no spline. Odd, indeed. From the videos I've seen, the steering is WAY too fast at times to be mechanical. It seems to be electronic steering.
Electronic SbW or not, Here is where it appears the stoke, yeel, woke, whatever attaches. Might be inset enough to be hard to recognize.

That rearview mirror looks kind of thin, I hope they find a way to include video
I agree with you. Once the tonneau cover is closed, it would be nice to look at the rear view mirror to see what is behind you. I would like that option better than to take up real estate on the main screen.
video to the rear will be on the screen as it is now in all their other cars probably.
Provided an example of my car for those that do not own a Tesla yet.
@ED_SFO, Video rear view mirror like was well executed on the Bolt.
Youtube videos of it working here: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/about-that-overhang….8354/page-3#post-147894

Lol, really?

What looks cheap?

They will put doors and a steering wheel on. Promise.
The upper part of the dashboard is simple but looks ok. The bottom just looks low quality and the glove box looks just miserable.
The seat's support looks worse than a farm tractor!
The armrest again!
Footrest!
The high that is the break! Tractor!!

I have reservation and eventually it will be my first EV, if the price will be near what was initially announced.
This was never expected to be a heavy duty truck, but this view is just disgusting comparing with the trucks that are in the market.

This shot combined with some earlier ones just about manages to explain this visor and brow situation

Unless they have a separate and optional trim setup, my mental map of this area doesn’t seem to permit of the sort of upper windshield lightbar from OG proto
meanwhile those visors axis slide forward / back (as well flip down) - don’t see how they would cooperate with a lightbar

optional / alternative trim kit there to accommodate?

at the very least the sensor stalk running down the windshield would seem to necessarily bifurcate a contiguous lightbar

I can agree in part, but disagree with “disgusting”. I too, first EV, need price to be…
have you priced a truck lately? We all need to go look at the stickers of nice trucks to prepare ourselves for price day, especially those of us driving older, basic trucks.
The seat looks just like a farm tractor, looks rugged. I’ve never had a seat rail fall apart but I know Keep It Simple Stu.. has solved a lot of problems in my industry. That rugged base might allow a lockable gun box under the seat, if you choose that. The simplicity of the cabin is attractive to me, stainless steel is not pretty like red metal flake but for a truck, its what I’m after. I expect there will be a boot around the steering shaft and other ‘cosmetries’ but if box steel for the seat structure is cheaper, available, and stronger than fabricating a custom rail, I’m all in. No carpet on the floor, I’ll blow it out with a leaf blower just like I do my XL F-150. By the way, seat comfort has been a focus for Mr. Musk since, before 2012.
He might not make rockets like the other guys do, but you have to admit, his are as reliable as theirs and way more cool to watch.

No problem, as long as it also is cheap. Not looking for some poncy premium vehicle, but something basic that can take a bit of abuse. That’s why I find it hard to believe Tesla would price it high.
Sure, but this is not expected to be a low-end vehicle. Just remember the prototype cargo bed, it was just gorgeous (probably too much and not work-oriented!).
This picture is from a low-end truck and some details look better designed/assembled.

Let's see the final product, finished. I only expect to have mine in 2025! By then lots of things were corrected and improved.

His rockets are far more reliable, and much less expensive per ton of payload. The astronauts going to the International Space Station prefer to ride on Space-X rockets for reliability reasons. When your life is on the line, everytime you get shot into space, it's funny how reliability becomes your number one concern.
