What is the concern with a powered frunk lid? Never once have I ever heard someone complain about not having a powered hood on an ICE truck. I don't even know if they make such a thing.

Do people want the frunk lid powered because they view it more like an SUV tailgate now?

Honestly this is the most ridiculous thread about the Cybertruck in quite some time.

11 pages of people whining about it being … the second largest frunk of any vehicle out there. And quite possibly the widest. When there’s a 6 foot bed behind them.

And people complaining that they may need to use their arms (the horror), instead of an unreliable, expensive and slow motorised thing (motorised boot lids are one of the most pointless gadgets out there on most cars).

This thread seems to even have rekindled the old nightmare of actually having a wiper, rather than … lasers? Baby leprachauns? I don’t know.

Talk about first world problems.

There is a significant difference between your two scenarios. In an ICE truck, the only people opening the hood are the mechanics or owners who are mechanically inclined.

In the case of an EV with a frunk, the only people opening the hood are the grocery shoppers, family members, and others with no need for any mechanical inclination.

I submit to you that those two groups have significantly differing wants, needs, and desires.

As far as I can tell, the modern world has pretty much made baby leprechauns extinct. Now lasers on the other hand....

That's a nice little bench to relax on. Aftermarket needs a frunklid speaker setup.

Seems like it's going to be powered to me.

Don’t think so. The struts seem way too small to actually open it. More of assist. The Lightning struts are easily double the length and width.

Still I like the size. Just need to figure out how to secure things. Tie downs, D rings. Just seems a little incomplete at first glance.

Many of us that currently own a Tesla do not utilize the frunk because the hood is relatively fragile and requires care when closing. If the frunk lid was powered, more would use this space. Based on the standard goose-neck hinges on the CT hood, my guess is that it is a manual setup. This probably will not be a big deal since the hood is stainless steel and can be shut with normal force.
