I wouldn't be surprised if Tesla offered or defaulted to having some sort of protective coating that keeps it clean looking like a painted surface.

The smudges are a intentional feature to train you kar-a-te. Wax on, wax off.

The problem with any statement like “raised suspension” is that it is ambiguous. If you are looking for evidence of ‘fully raised’ or ‘fully lowered’ then that may be how you interpret it. In fact all it tells you is that it isn’t the lowest setting, which we can all see anyway.
