aside from the change in bed materials (it’s now smooth finished rather than grained), change in bulkhead design (sill is now sloped, which makes sense from a run-off perspective), etc:

this photo makes clearer that the forward 2/3 of the bed floor is a removable service hatch - to access the motors, compressor, bottle, etc.
etc is the new acronym for wireless charging

The rolling bed cover pretty much ensures that there will be no passthrough and no rear window that goes down.

There are too many safety issues that rolling cover creates
Powered windows would cause enough safety issues to exclude them from consideration if there weren't safety mechanisms in place. The safety problem of a tonneau cover that: either only activates when the window is closed, or has a clutch that prevents it from exerting decapitating forces will suffice to allow for a operable rear window.

Except that's where the vault cover goes. The window doesn't meet the forward bulkhead there.

I just don't see tesla adding a feature like this at launch. The retracting cover already has a safety I am sure which will stop it if it encounters resistance. They would need to deal withe the window open and closed with the cover open or closed and the possibility to introduce all kinds of things into the mechanism Unless they only allow a window to open if the cover is open.

Back to the topic of the in-bed lighting, heh:

I use my truck for loading and unloading band gear for musical performances, so having good lighting at night is really helpful. I think this will be superior to my Ridgeline bed lighting, since the light is the length of the bed, rather than just two small fixtures in the sides of the bed. I'm wondering if there will be additional lighting in the in-bed trunk. The in-bed trunk lighting is a weakness on the Ridgeline, as it depends on the small lights on the side of the bed and if the lid isn't fully opened, it's dark in the in-bed trunk, because the light fixtures are above the lid. I'm often loading and unloading in the rain, so I often keep the bed tonneau cover closed to keep bed and gear dry, which prevents the in-bed trunk on the Ridgeline from opening fully to allow light inside.

I’ll subscribe to the channel! I spend all my spare time on furniture orders these days. I’ll be in touch, I want to order a Martin kit and build it with my Dad (guitar player extraordinaire!) while I still have him to build with.
