Not a hard vehicle to wrap I will do it myself if that is what I decide to do, I already have all the tools and materials to polish it to a mirror finish and/or wrap it.

I know plasti-dip gets a bad rap but I did my last truck and it was awesome!

CT would be sooo easy to do. And when you want to change colors you just do more on top of old!

Tesla Cybertruck Report: Cybertruck official factory wrap service launches w/in 6 months of first deliveries, at $8-12k price 20140726_130118_Richtone(HDR)-1

Unless their wrap is made of Teflon or UV charging then I would say they be overstepping. no one should support that. Though you can you do you I guess.

@Teslascope, the public rejects this pricing. Please confer with your superiors and return with a reasonable offer.

That price, if true, is OUTRAGEOUS! My thinking is either:

1. Tesla has developed some space-age materials using CRISPR engineered spider silk, that lowers aerodynamic drag and can withstand abrasion from anything softer than garnet. OR...

2. Will be using the wrap price as an explanation why the price at launch is so much higher than the reveal event price estimates. Sounds better than "Dealer Market Adjustment". They'll concoct some explanation why all of the trucks off the line the first year or two had to have wraps included.

I'm a notorious DIYer but have been too leery of the learning curve to DYI a vehicle wrap. The CyberTruck seemed like such a perfect novice canvas to dip a toe into vehicle wrapping that I planned on doing mine. No way I'd pay more than a couple hundred $ labor to have someone else wrap such a simple shape.

$8k to $12k for a wrap you could DIY at 1/20th the price? no thanks. The diminishing list of features is also disappointing. I'll wait for final details to decide, but am considering a cancellation.
What’s the diminishing list of features? I can only think of two. The tailgate ramp and 3rd seat up front. That’s not really much in the grand scheme.

They even added one with 4 wheel steering and maybe another with drive by wire.

One of the big reasons Im interested in the CT is the Stainless finish. Wrapping it would increase my care quotient for the finish. I'd rather not care.

The price for wraps is insane, never understand why people buy a $55K car and then spent $7K on wrapping it... unless you have money to burn I suppose.

The rumored price for the factory CT wrap is nuts.

I've occasionally considered wrapping myself, if I decide to do it for the CT it will definitely be a do it on a Saturday after watching lots of youtube videos deal. Most likely I'll just leave it shiny fridge color and call it a day.

I am thinking about going with Line X Ultra which is a paint alternative that is popular with the off roading community especially Jeeps

Also... why would I pay a Tesla service center to wrap my car when I can pay experts who pretty much wrap cars all day long to do the same... not sold.

If it's a "factory wrap" for the CT, it's slightly more appealing.

I’ve screwed around with a little vinyl with a friend and done some work on my model x wrap with some replacement. From my really limited experience I speculate the CT should be about the easiest vehicle to wrap.

I can't wait for the people who fork over $10k and in 3-5 years ask Tesla for refunds because it's flaking or fading. For that kind of money, I'd expect it to be guaranteed for 15-20 years. Insane.
for that much money I would expect tungsten carbide coating with color of my choosing :)

"This was a "had to wait until it was hinted at publicly before we share it" scenario, but: Tesla will offer a Cybertruck wrap service with multiple choices within six months of the first customer deliveries. There are no price confirmations yet, but it is expected to be $8-12K."

That is nutso.

Requested a quote from local wrap shop for CT about 4months ago. They said it would cost 5k. Tesla prices are way higher. Ultimately all of them will most likely go with 3M. Not sure why the cost difference is so much.
It will be done by Optimus bots and you get video of it for bragging rights :)
