Today was the day for me.
After watching sightings transition from drone footage, potato-cams, freeway glimpses and finally showroom pictures, I saw the Cybertruck in person.

My friends, it truly is stunning.

Seeing it on a screen does not do it justice. The way the geometry of the bodywork catches the light is phenomenal. The steel does not look like a fridge. It looks like... the future.? It's reflective enough to bounce colors back into the room, but not enough to be a glaring mirror.

The lightbar on the front is also far more iconic and captivating in person too. It's hard to believe it's real.

I thought the trim areas around the bumpers and wheels did not look plasticky. They might BE plastic, but they almost look like powder-coated metal.

More impressions:
  1. The BAW anchor point looks large, but the wiper itself didn't seem as big in person.
  2. There is a LOT of glass on the roof - it's going to be bright in the cab.
  3. It didn't seem too big. Definitely longer, but not obviously wider or taller the MX. I think this CT was at low or entry position.
  4. Tesla store employees are also not allowed in the vehicle. It was delivered, parked, and that's it. They know nothing more.
  5. The wheels are HUGE.
I didn't take any photos that you haven't already seen 100s of times, but here you go:

If you can, make the trip to see it yourself - it's worth it! It's also currently the only way to get on the test drive list.

You can tell that Tesla sweated the details for the final SS finish. I think it’s perfect. Not too bright, not too dull.

What test drive list? The sign in process before we saw the CT? That be great.

There's a separate list they have in store where you can sign up for a test drive for an "unspecified" future date. You give your name, number and email. I was told no early access for existing reservation holders. ?

On a related note:
When the barriers come down the reps were worried they might have to use a 1-minute limit for interior access due to demand.

There's a certain brilliance in how Tesla arranged this... a third party delivers the trucks to stores and locks it up. The employees honestly have no more information than the general public and couldn't leak even if they wanted to.
Questions about the mid-gate, ramp, suspension settings, tires etc are met with "I know, I'm wondering about that too!"

at at least some stores, some employee drove them in

that’s how the one employee-manager told a YouTuber about the 123kWh pack - he’s driven it into the store

??‍♂
