Good question. Heavens seen any mention of tow hitches being installed on any of the foundation specs.Does anyone know how the CT is wired for trailer hook ups? 7 way, 4 way etc?
yeah but which configuration and does it have integrated trailer brake control?I'm sure it is. No way you have a receiver hitch without trailer wiring
I'm pretty sure Tesla and the engineering team has thought that through. What about trailer brakes needing 12v’s to operate?
Stepping down voltage is simple. For the time being, it will probably be the default voltage sent to the trailer connector, but with an option to be able to send 48 v when trailer and accessory manufacturers adapt their electronics to the higher voltage. What about trailer brakes needing 12v’s to operate?
They'll be 4x brighter, but only for a moment. ?Maybe it’s safer to have brake lights that are 4x brighter than 12v
Indeed. The trailer connection needs to supply 14 volts for trailer battery charging for emergency brakes and for travel trailer power, as well as 12 volts for turn signals and brake lights and running lights. and then there are the braking signal and power for electric hitch lifts.I'm pretty sure Tesla and the engineering team has thought that through.
There will be USB adapters. Or AC adapters. So currently, while towing my Airstream I have a rearview camera monitor that displays the area behind my trailer and a handheld trailer brake controller, both of which plug in to cigaret lighters. Since the Cybertruck has no cigarette lighters how would these work?
