I read that article first thing this morning. I’m no expert, but the detail in which this information was presented definitely made it plausible as it relates to CT production delays. However, I would have assumed the run rate on battery production would be significantly higher than stated in the article based off of the information Tesla itself shared back in October. The initial ramp is always hard and Tesla could have a perfect storm of issues like this with CT production. With that said, if any company has demonstrated the ability to push through and overcome on the production side, it‘s Tesla.

Things like this make me very skeptical of Tesla even making 25,000 CyberTrucks in 2024. With 48-volt architecture could be another constraint on production. These are not mainstream parts and it just takes one to limit production. Stainless Steel could be another issue with supply chain challenges.

I think people here are overly optimistic of a quick ramp of the CyberTruck. I am not. If I was, I would not have immediately accepted the Foundation Edition. I would have waited for the dual motor with the $7500 point of sale tax credit. I am pretty certain right now that I would be waiting over a year if I didn't accept that invitation.

I think people are overly optimistic about the ramp because of recent Tesla successful ramps of the Model Y and Highland. Tesla is not in the same position as it was with the Model 3.

The Model Y ramp was easy because it shared parts with the Model 3. The CyberTruck is completely different and can't be compared. If people are looking at the Model Y ramp and trying to use that for the CyberTruck production ramp, they are not going to be happy with the results.

Seems like FUD to me, for the most part at least. Cell production rate equivalent to 24k Cybertrucks is plenty for where they are now. What they fail to mention is this is from a single line, they're in the process of converting one line from v1 to v2 and have another two new v2 lines going in as the ramp progresses through 2024.

They gained experience from all the ramps. And then with the new line they have learned from the past. Plus the technology in the new ramp is leaps and bounds better. Even Sandy Monroe was blown away by what he saw. Once they figure out the last last fine tuning they will be cracked out like hotcakes. You are flat out wrong if you don’t think they will make over 100k this year.

Yahoo has been irrelevant for what like 20 years now?

Tesla said plain as day they expect to ramp the batteries with CyberTruck production. No surprise here.
The cathode battery plant at Giga Texas should be done soon along with Tesla’s New Lithium Refinery Plant located near Corpus Christi, Texas!
