I know the majority of people who have placed orders (not reservations) have selected the AWD and have justified the switch from their original Tri-Motor reservation to the AWD because the only benefit to the beast appears to be a 1.5 second faster 0-60 and a $4k “credit” to install PowerShare. I want to justify my preference for the Cyberbeast because “when in Rome” right? I originally ordered the Dual Motor, no FSD, on day 1. RN 112853…
With a possible invitation around the corner, I need someone to change my mind and convince me the AWD is the way to go and the Cyberbeast is a $20k overspend.

Go…

It’s better, that’s why it costs more.

In my mind AWD is more than satisfactory performance wise. Two concerns for me are range and tires, which the Beast is more limited and costly.

Now if you’re burning money, YOLO that ?

If I had the money I would get the cyberbeast. Don’t forget it also gets a light bar.

YOLO.. I always LOOK at resale value regardless of even thinking about reselling it now. How many CB FS will there be? These will be the unicorns among all of the AWD units out there. I of course hate the fact that the AWD will be delivered first but standing my ground on going for the CB. I sacrificed not having a truck for the past 4 years and going all out for the CB FS. Hopefully I'll get it in the first half of 2024 as per when I put the $1000 down a month ago.

Realistically I’d do the crazy launch thing like 20 times before the novelty would wear off. For a $20,000 premium that amortizes to $1000 per crazy launch. If I bought an AWD and could magically unlock super acceleration for $1000 per shot I’d say hell no so how’s that any different? Between that and the lack of any other major feature on the Beast (I can buy a light bar ala carte) I’m justifying just buying the AWD

This was my thinking as well, but I am fighting internally with my pragmatic side, and he makes a good argument that SOB.

I reserved tri-motor but went AWD simply because I can't wait any longer. Gimmeh muh truck!
Same I wanted the Beast and only choose the AWD because of the delivery window. I got money to burn so I'll just upgrade to the beast in 3-4 years when when the range is better.

I'm most likely getting the beast since by the time I'm able to get one, the Cyberbeast should be readily available like a Plaid today.

-CB independent drive rear axle perhaps allowing for enhanced driving experiences like drifting…... or future “boat” mode for differential thrust?
-Possible more robust ESC controller to allow for higher output?
-Possibly easier to upgrade to a quad motor?
-synchronous reluctance front motor better for regeneration and brake effect where most brake force is, may save brakes?
If front motor is used for cruise, and rear are off line, intrinsic FWD traction better vs RWD?
- you just never know when you might find yourself towing a Porsche and have some whipper snapper in a 911 staring at you and wondering as his furrowed brow indicates he wonders if it’s a AWD or CB……. So tell me punk, do I have two motors or three? In all this waiting and excitement I have forgotten, so do you feel lucky….punk? ?

I appreciate all the feedback. And I agree there is definitely an intangible quality to that extra oomph that just puts a smile on your face. It’s what makes this decision so difficult I think.

When I went from a P90D to a 90D because I road trip a lot and the range was convenient, my nephew told me to "floor it" followed by "is there something wrong with it, it's slow."
That's 0-60 in 3 secs vs 4 secs... spoiled (and I got offended).
Better not remind everyone that the Lamborghini Countach did 0-60 in 5.4 seconds...
