One consequence is all your friends could turn green....with envy.

Seriously though, AFAIK Tesla accounts are not transferable except in limited circumstances (death of the account holder being one likely scenario), so if Tesla found out I bet they would deactivate it, making the reservation go "poof".

You might want to read the Terms of Agreement associated with a Tesla account with regard to transferability.

I had to scan my drivers license to confirm I was who I was when the offer to purchase went through. Front and back. I’m not sure if that’s how they confirm who is the original pre order buyer or not but I was surprised they wouldn’t let me progress without the photo id.

They are just now getting delivered. Who knows.
It is expressly not allowed
If someone actually does do it, feel assured that they aren't going to brag about it. Too easy for the long arm of Tesla to rip the vehicle back.

I only love risk when the risk/reward ratio is favorable.

In the case of buying or selling a reservation, or breaking the "No Resale" clause, I don't see how the risk is worth the possible reward. Which means we will probably get our Cybertrucks in hand much sooner than if Tesla let scalping chaos prevail!

My goal is to throw it on Turo and take advantage of the scarcity before the market is flooded. I see a few reservations for sale on eBay but I haven’t heard of a horror story yet.

true, I was aware that selling the vehicle was prohibited… but I didn’t have clarification on the sale of the reservation. I’m looking for a loophole. (Fingers crossed ??) I’m hoping that the consequences come after a potential sale and not during this inquiry.

If you go review the agreement for the reservation (pre-order):

"No Resellers; Discontinuation; Cancellation. Tesla and its affiliates sell cars directly to end-consumers, and we may unilaterally cancel any order that we believe has been made with a view toward resale of the Vehicle or that has otherwise been made in bad faith. We may also cancel your pre-order and refund your Pre-Order Payment if we discontinue a product, feature or option after rate time you place your pre-order or if we determine that you are acting in bad faith."

You are entitled to interpret this other than as a no-transfer provision, but I do not.

I believe that there might be one on Turo already.

And those who have rented it are doing YouTube tests on it. Trying to beat the crap out of it.

An interesting point, I’m hoping that most renters will be responsible. I can imagine some super expensive repairs
