It won't hurt the process for getting your VIN. I was told by a Tesla team member that I can wait to complete financing when I receive my VIN.

Same. The Cybertruck will be my third brand new Tesla and I’ve never secured funding until I had the VIN. We ordered our ‘22 MY in November of 2021 with an expected delivery date in January 2022. My wife got a random message from Tesla in April of 2022 about choosing a delivery date. It was after that we went to get funding from our credit union. As long as you show up with a check, it didn’t seem to matter. Others experiences may be different. That’s been ours.

So you were able to go ahead and pay it through the app? This will be my first time taking delivery at a service center, I presume you just show up and sign some papers/inspect/ and then you are on your way?

Yes that’s basically it. The team member helping you should help you get your phone key set up and teach you things about the vehicle you may not know. I would suggest even if you’ve watched a bunch of videos on everything Cybertruck, let them show you. You may be surprised there’s something you didn’t know you didn’t know lol. We’ve had to take a trip to pick up two of ours and I see that experience as taking a break from the long drive and taking time to just enjoy picking up a brand new vehicle. Not everyone gets that experience in life.

I received my VIN last night. Just waiting to schedule delivery now!

@Maaz, when did you get your order invite? I’m wondering if they’re still issuing VINs to the 12/8-12/9 folks or have moved on. Thanks in advance.

Road tripping to pick one up would be really cool, hope to have that opportunity sooner than later.

We make a whole day of it and plan other things while we’re out. Especially gonna do that with this truck lol. Good luck.

A. I wanted a CB, but went with AWD since it was said to be quicker, hearing of a CB VIN I regret that decision and may call to see if I can switch. Worth an extra month.

B. I did Tesla financing and got 6.59. I bought my bronco in September and used the dealer financing, 7.99. Before my first payment was due my bank offered 5.69 and switched. Plan to do the same plus I don’t have my whole down payment until I sell my S.

C. 3rd new Tesla, my 2021 S was the first refresh delivered in Ohio. 1127 reservation.

I'm a San Diego morning of 12/9 AWD order and I still have not been assigned a VIN.

For anyone curious, VIN not yet assigned 11280xx order, confirmed Dec 11, San Diego.

you should have received something by now being 11th when Cyberscoot says he got vin from Dec 9th confirmation. I paid on Dec 22nd so I was expecting 10 days from now to hear something. guess it's in the hands of the Tesla Gods.

I'm a San Diego morning of 12/9 AWD order and I still have not been assigned a VIN.

Im guessing 12/9s getting there VINs at a rate of a few a day and at the rate of manufacturing will put a 12/22 confirmation into March or even May 2024 like myself to just get a VIN. Trucks are slow to non employee people.
