It’s currently looking like CTs will be delivered through Irvine, or at least that’s what my app is telling me.
Ah dang. That's a bit far, but I hope you don't have to. I went to the Carlsbad and Mira Mesa locations last week. Service center folks at both seemed like they really didn't want to be there, delivery folks in Mira Mesa seemed like they were busy but having a good time, and the sales people were slow in Carlsbad so were very friendly and we shot the breeze for awhile.

If you end up doing it in San Diego can you DM me so I can check it out?

I don’t think this is true. I’ve waited to go through with financing in the past, which is what we’re again doing for this one.
I finalized my financing just now to avoid any delays. It did say "credit approvals are valid for 30 to 60 days, depending on your lender." You guys talked me into it! Wonder why the rate is so low through Tesla. It is at least 3% lower than other sources.

Prepare to get low balled by Tesla on your trade in. Is the no hassle convenience worth the low trade in offer? Only you can decide.

So then purely a matter of perceived online anonymity.

Makes sense, thanks.

VIN seems a little different than license plate, in that LPs can generally be looked up through state DMVs.

I’m less certain how a normie can go about associating a VIN with an individual.
The issue really doesn't apply here. If the car were eligible for a tax credit the thought was back many years ago that people would use the VIN to fraudulently apply for the tax credit. Then if you did as well your return would be kicked back.

Not sure how much truth there was to it.

What rate are you getting?
The app said 6.59% before completed all the info and submitted the application. Almost instantly after submitting, I got several "credit check" emails alerting me a bank was hitting my credit report. Within the hour Chase bank called to confirm my income. Since I'm retired, I have income from various sources. My credit rating has been over 800 for a while, so I'm not worried about that, but I don't have a job. I'm glad I proceeded with the loan request. I submitted my order/configuration on 12/31 after getting an email on 12/8. Amazing how quickly that all happened. Now I wait for Tesla to notify me of the loan approval.

when you said at least 3% lower than other sources, I wasn't expecting 6.59%! for example, FedChoice, a perennial favorite among Tesla buyers, is at 6.74% (so I thought maybe you had been given a rate in the threes).

I applied for financing this morning to also not delay anything but i have not accepted the approval. Want to get a quote from my credit union prior to accepting this offer.
